My wife and I were discussing the shape of the female breast and how it has seemed to change since the sixties/seventies..
In film, we have noticed that breasts back in the day seem to be flat, pancake-ish, and more "ramp-like"
nowadays it seems that they are more round and full.. and I am not talking about the surgically enhanced ones..
nipples seem to be smaller now as well..

None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe that they are free.

Girls who are more fit tend to have less fat in their chest....less sag...and more upper body muscle, and a tighter core. All make for better looking chest.
It's a great era we live in!
Watch a film like "Easy Rider" and observe the general shape.. They just seem to be different

I don't think bras have to do with that. I think the bra-argument was just a means to get women in the more modest eras to wear bras.

i know exactly what what you are talking about. i remember seeing an old emanuelle movie on cinemax as a kid and i thought they looked like a ski jump ramp
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."

The late 60s and the 70s were literally more free, as in no support, which naturally lead to the imposition of gravitational forces. Think back to National Geographic With the creation of better, read lighter, more flexible lingerie, and keeping in mind the ruinous effects of said gravity on the aforementioned breasts, women (and men) embraced once again, the saviour of well-fitting clothes known as the bra.
And that marks a return to the board for me after a very long hiatus
I have noticed the same thing...it's very easy to pick out the decade a film was made just by looking at the mammary shape. For instance, in late 70's/early 80's slasher films (always plenty of boobs), the majority of boobs are itty bitty. I think some of the trend has to do with whatever female body shape is "in" during that time. This doesn't always hold true, but the trend is there. Let's look at the 50's and 60's, the female body was more curvy in general, thus a fuller mammary shape...along came the disco era of the 70's and early 80's, being very skinny was in..goodbye boobs. Afterall, the main components of boobage is mammary glands and fat.
I do not think bras have anything to do with it as Lisa mentioned...as we all know, I am an advocate of free boobing and I will say that there is very little sagging sans bra. I don't have any kids, but I would say for my age, it's somewhat impressive (if I do say myself).
Anyway..I think the volume over time is dependent on diet...I'm not sure if the shape is also affected by this, but it's a good guess. The way our food is processed has changed dramatically in the recent decades.
Boobs are exquisite, and their evolution is important to science. Thank you for this thread. :P
Im pretty sure the magnetic poles have something to do with that particular style. Again, thanks science.
I thought I felt an attraction :ugeek:
