figured I'd post this here too. someone asked about bars near the arena in another thread...

I live a few blocks from the Barclays Center, these are my favorite bars in the area:

    Fort Greene:
Der Schwarze Kölner, http://www.ex49.com/dsk/ (smallish german beer hall)
Mullanes, http://mullanesbrooklyn.com/ (more of a sports bar thing)
Hot Bird, 546 Clinton Avenue, New York, NY 11238 (this is on the border of fort greene & prospect heights), http://nymag.com/listings/bar/hot-bird/

    park Slope:
    4th Ave:
4th Ave Pub, http://nymag.com/listings/bar/4th-avenue-pub/ (free popcorn!)
    Pacific Standard, http://www.pacificstandardbrooklyn.com/
Cherry Tree Pub, http://nymag.com/listings/bar/cherry-tree/ (my friend used to live in this space before it became a bar)

    5th Ave:
    Uncle Barrys, unclebarrys.com‎
Black Sheep Pub, 428 Bergen Street

    Prospect Heights:
There's a bunch of decent bars and lots of restaurants on Vanderbilt Ave btwn Pacific and St. Marks

    on Atlantic Ave:
Hank's Saloon, 46 3rd Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217 (this place is just awesome. nuff said)
Hollow Nickel, 494 Atlantic Avenue, hollownickel.com‎ (this place is pretty new, went once. seemed cool, it has a backyard)
There's a new "fancy" beer place near the stubhub office on Atlantic Ave as well. just opened a few weeks ago.

My pleasure! I love New York but I know it gets overwhelming since there's so much to do, thought some suggestions might help :)

Anyone know any good Vegan places? I've been on yelp and I see there are a ton BUT of course I can't hit them all, so maybe my fellow Pearl Jam fans can narrow this down for me.

I'm not vegan but here are a few that I know of:
    - Babycakes (bakery): http://www.babycakesnyc.com/
    - Candle Cafe: http://www.candlecafe.com/
    - Pure Food & Wine: http://oneluckyduck.com/pages/menus-pure-food-and-wine
    - Angelica Kitchen: http://angelicakitchen.com/
    - Blossom: http://www.blossomnyc.com/
    - Franchia: http://www.franchia.com/
    - Beyond Sushi: http://beyondsushinyc.com/

Not sure if this is vegan but seems like it could be
    - Kajitsu: http://www.kajitsunyc.com/about.html

Also, NYC is very vegan friendly (and really everything friendly) so you should feel comfortable walking into a restaurant and asking if they have vegan options if you don't need it to be an all-vegan restaurant.

awesome! Thank you... I am excited to see what NYC has to offer vegans, there are only a handful of restaurants in Miami, it going to be cool to see what creation people have come up with up there.
