Really, really good. Whatever "echo" people were talking about that could be heard in the other Sydney shows isn't detectable here at all. Not to me, at least.

Could have been the reconfiged venue with the top tier totally closed off with ultra thick curtains....

The crowd sounds brilliant - especially during Betterman (especially especially), Daughter and Last Kiss. I haven't listened to the second encore yet but from what I can remember the crowd went off during I Got You and Smile.

I love Ed's Blues Brothers-like chant during Betterman with the crowd screaming in the background:

"Hello Sydney..... I don't know about you..... but I gotta feelin'....... we gotta feelin' tonight........ it's a saturday night....... it's our last show in Sydney........ so let the singing begin....... oh ohhhhh oh ohhh oh"

chills down my spine!!!! You all HAVE to get this boot.

I was a bit worried about the crowd when I first got there - I was a bit put off that they couldn't fill the top seats and I couldn't work out what sort of people would come to the third concert. F8cking awesome people that's who!!!!!

  • Ok serious enquiry here:

Does anyone else's version of Given To Fly on this boot skip at 1:27 and return to the beginning of the track. Then the end is cut off - the rest of GTF and a little Ed speech leading into I Am Mine? (I'd imagine 1:27 is cut off the end)

What do I do about this? cos I can't download it again....

This also happens on Corduroy for Sydney 1 boot I think....
"So far they have Jeff, Stone and Mike and they're fucking right now trying to get a little Eddie. And if they get to Boom ... we're just gonna keep adding band members. We'll have a horn section ... that's evolution, baby."

I only had a problem somewhere along the way cos I ran out of room on the hard drive when converting to WAV. You might wanna check that the files are complete.

The sound on this boot isn't as good as Melbourne (could be the best sounding leg?), but you still get the vibe, which was ON. I still feel like I'm trying to convince a lot of people about Sydney 3, cos many from the LW board missed this show.

    2009: LA 1, 2, Melbourne, Sydney

  • All fixed, my computer was the problem I'd imagine. Basecamp were quick to reply and let me re-download the corrupted track.

The discounted tickets did the trick I reckon. One of my mates came with us to Sydney 1, had a rage. Picked up the flyers for the $60 tickets and brought his mate and their girls along to 3. The cheaper the tickets the wilder the crowd. A classic example was back when Rafter and Goran(don't make try and type his last name) were in the Wimbeldon final it didn't get played till the Monday. So the elite had their day on Sunday and the punters got to go on Monday. It was the most insane loudest crowd it ever seen there.

Ed had us in the palm of his hand after Betterman and played it beautifully for rest of the night as well. What a frontman!!!
I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!

People shouldn't need a reason to go off, other than the fact it's Pearl Jam! Sadly, even that doesn't do it for some.

I'm so glad this was a special show after what it was expected to be..

If you have purchased the flac version:

    Download http://www.etree.org/cgi-bin/counter...are/md5sum.exe
and save it in your System32 dir (if you are on 2000 or XP)

Go to start -> run type in cmd
    cd c:\where\you\saved\your sydney show
    type md5sum "*.flac" > checksums.txt

Post the contents of checksums.txt in a private message.

I'll compare them to mine and see if your originals are corrupted.

If they arent corrupted, it sounds like a prob with the extraction process.

If they are, you can send a message to basecamp, and they will re-add the files for you to download.

Get the MD5 sums first (it will save you from downloading if you dont have to.)
