Your Ultimate Dream Band

Ok so this is a debate me and my friends have every few months or so. It is usually real late night after the bar but it always gets into a heated debate so I figure what better forum to post it than on here for some quality debating. Rules are simple, pick your band + one "utility member" who is basically someone that can do anything if need be. I tend to overthink and include/exclude someone based on how they would get along with others in the band but everyone doesn't need to be that thorough  . Well, here's the lineup I am rolling out:

Drums - Peart
Bass - Flea
Guitar - Clapton
Utility - Grohl
Vocals - Vedder

**Disclaimer- Just some quick reasoning.....I picked Peart over Moon bc he would likely black out 5 songs in. Flea over Sting bc Sting's ego would take over at some point and he would walk off mid-show. Clapton...I mean I don't have to explain myself here. Grohl bc he can sing, play bass, drums, guitar, traingle, anything you need him to do. Eddie bc his range is flat out ridiculous.

Let's see what everyone has here, should be interesting.

  • Drums - Peart
    Bass - The Ox
    Guitar - EC
    Vocals - Steve Winwood

So, basically Blind Faith with a better back bone (amazing that that's possible)

EDIT: utility is me bc they don't really need one.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Going to be some monster lineups here that will be hard to argue with. But just an FYI...utility can also be rhythm guitar or something.

Mike Patton out of left field! I think if there were a straight songwriter category it would be between Dylan or Ryan Adams. At first glance Dylan is nearly impossible to overthrow but I feel like Adams is the best of the last 15 years or so.

Patton's vox are amazing...if I could take Anselmo ala 20 years ago then I'd do that in a heartbeat. But I guess if you're going songwriter...I like your Dylan pick!
