Who here has been to Jazz Fest?

Planning a bachelor party trip to New Orleans next spring and we think its a good idea to wrap the trip around the festival.

Does anyone know when the lineups are usually announced? Where is the best area to stay? What night does the "headliner" usually play? Im assuming the last sunday of the last weekend. Any other info or tips? I know this festival is massive.

  • You know that the festival ends at 7pm every day right? That's usually the biggest thing that throws people off.

The headliner doesn't necessarily play on Sunday (PJ played on a Satuday in 2010), and some years the first weekend is better than the 2nd.

When PJ played it seems like they announced it around Christmastime. You'll have plenty of lead time on who the headliners are.

Anyone hear any rumors of who's gonna be at Jazzfest this year?

    Lineup Tuesday.

Rumors I've seen are Arcade Fire, McCartney, Clapton, Outkast.

Would LOVE if Ed decided to make up his missed 2012 date!

Was close! So pumped that I'll be there for Springsteen and Arcade Fire. Just wish Clapton was the same weekend

This lineup looks insane. I would definitely pick the first weekend as much as I love Bruce and Arcade Fire. The window to see Clapton is closing fast. And Santana would be wild. But you can't go wrong either weekend.

Dont venture off the beaten paths and you'll have a great time. They have some of the roughest ghettos in the country so be very careful. Its hard to tell where they begin sometimes. Other than that theres no city like nola.

As far as the festival the final day is usually not the "big" lineups. Usually more local and celebratory. Headliners play from 5-7pm everyday. Most acts play other sets in the city later that night.

Getting super pumped. Will be at second weekend and counting the days. Really happy they added an hour to Bruce's slot?

Saw that too. Glad Bruce got the extra time. Looking forward to seeing him again. Saw him almost two weeks ago in Dallas, and was an awesome show!

Counting the minutes to this weekend.
Bruce is going to destroy the fairgrounds. Anyone there this past weekend?

Also I may have some extra tickets to sell below current face if anyone is interested.
