***HOLY GRAIL THANK YOU FROM AUSSIE357
Hi all - happy Saturday!!!!
Well, I really don't know what to say.... It's difficult to express my gratitude when I'm so in awe of the caring, generous nature of the community that we are so fortunate to be a part of, coupled with the ingenuity, drive and persistence of those steering the grail ship!!!
When I was approached and informed that I had been chosen as the next recipient I was actually in disbelief, to the point where I attempted several times, unsuccessfully, to deflect and to have another individual selected. I can't say that I wasn't flattered, but I most definitely felt (and still do feel) that there are far more people within our community more qualified than myself to receive this honor.
In the past few years I had been fortunate enough to have a great job that allowed me to help out others where possible, and also feed my collecting addiction. Back in January that all came to a crashing halt, resulting in huge personal and financial upheaval, and a 2,600 mile relocation from the US to Canada. It was not an easy thing to deal with, and there was not a lot of light at the end of the tunnel.... So to have this grail come along at such a poignant time really renewed my faith in the universe. Finding out that there are people that recognize your worth and think that you're "ok" when you don't necessarily feel the same way can be, and was a lifesaver
My grail items were tough ones - my first show poster from '95 and a super rare, very pricey piece of vinyl. I really didn't think any of it was possible, but threw it out there anyway. There was no way I would want or expect this community to donate the funds for such expensive items, but luckily I still had my "PJ fund for a rainy day" stashed away, and informed Roger that it would be put towards the grail, if at all obtainable.
After 3 months of hearing stories of the grail seeking team dealing with brick walls, urban legends and unicorns, I got a message from a guy called dgronkowsky or something..... Apparently he knows a thing or two about collecting all things Pearl Jam. He asked if I would be willing to change the grail item, and when he told me what he had in mind I was blown away!!!
So without further ado (and rambling), here is what I believe is in transit to my door!
I am totally blown away!!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's so hard to express my humbled gratitude to everyone involved. This just reinforces my belief in the bond we all share as members of this great PJ community!!!
I don't know for sure, but I think all, if not most of the grail funds went towards this, so when I get to access my PJ collection that is in storage right now, I will be selling off some things and all proceeds will go to my chosen charity - Advocacy for Patients with Chronic Illness for Team McCready (NJ chapter of Team McCready/CCFA)
I have made so many new (sure to be lifelong) friends within this community, and I'm sure there will be more to come! Bring on the Fall tour - drinks are on me!!!!
Speaking of drinks.... I'm off to have one, or three!!! Still can't believe this happened!!!
Have a GREAT weekend everyone!
Peace and Cheers!!!
Chad.

Congrats my friend, So fucking stoked for you man!!! This was a FUN one for sure! Anybody out there that reads this that DOES have a Blue Vs, screw you
Just kidding..I wouldn't let it go either... Ha!
Through all this scouring and trying to pry one from a seller its made me realize how really elusive this blue fucker really is! (I'm now iso) We've passed through the fucking PJ Merch Ether trying to get that marbled marvel! Benny's, PJ posters signed & numbered by Picasso, Colored Fixers, Colored this, colored that... Figures you end up with the only one that needs to be in the dark all the time :fp:
All kidding aside... This man is Aces and deserves it more than anyone else I know! I consider myself lucky to have you as a friend Chad, but you're more so like a brother.. Everyone that donated, bumped, donated and bumped. You're what makes stuff like this possible and the reason why I at least will forever be a part of THIS online community. Forget about the Pearl Jam fanbase and all of that for a second, I'm just simply speaking about us collectors and lovers of all things merchandise and the "community" here of Lost Dogs.
Sometimes (last 4 months) this place can be a complete shit show and drive me fucking nuts! But its the Grails, The charities taken up by members (Elwayvedder, 3days and countless others = Inspiring), the poster who has no clue about what they have, that one of us jumps in and saves from selling a $1000 item for $12.00, and the countless other good shit that goes on here that makes me NEVER wanna see this place go away!
Now if we can only get all the tickets ISO's back to where they belong on Given to Fly, then everything would be right in the world!!
Oh and ps... Raffle is getting done tonight!
