Smaller Venues Longer Stints

As long as we're in discussions on opinions of how the band should tour...
Amphitheaters are hit and miss and I hate arenas.
Clubs and Theaters would be the best. More intimate, better sound, no behind the stage seats or nosebleed.
PJ are conscious of their carbon footprint and the trend seems to be they are scaling back on how much they tour so how about 3-4+ night runs at a handful of these type of venues. Places like the Fillmore, Radio City, Paramount, Wiltern and The Vic to name a few.

they played 3 nights at the bill graham civic in san francisco in July of 2006. i think something like this would be a great draw for fans and let the band unwind some instead of always being on the road during a tour.

I saw Soundgarden at the Tower Theatre in Philly and had this same thought for PJ. Every show would be personal and amazing. A small venue tour would also be a great match for 10c but I get the feeling that they simply can't get more than 20% of seats regardless of venue, something I admit I don't fully understand. Plus, if they did this it would likely limit them to major cities even more than they are already in order to sell out a run of shows.

From a publicity point of view the local media would eat this up and give tons more coverage to the band. It would be like the PJ Circus came to town.

I caught a bunch of Soundgarden's shows on the west coast, Arlene Schnitzer in Portland, Paramount in Seattle, The Fox in Oakland and The Wiltern in LA. Every venue was great and I kept thinking how great a PJ show in these type of places would be. Especially with their new stage set with the intimate lights.
