What's the deal with all these accidents of late?
Swiss train collision today.


Planes belly flopping on runways, trains flying off tracks, buses flipping... :?

I'm staying home!

    Really does seem to be many transportation oddities lately. Are they mechanical failures or human error / tampering?

    I actually was on Southwest coming into Laguardia that day from Midway. I heard that, I thought for sure I'd be delayed until 11 or so.

    I'm on Southwest at least once a week.
    Was surprised to see the front gear landing at Laguardia. SW pilots have some of the most experience in the business. Seemed pretty amateur...that said that front gear shouldn't have collapsed at that angle.

    Yeah, I've been through WAY rougher landings in my day. Landed at a 45 degree angle from the runway, hit hard a number of times, a couple of aborted landings in bad weather, damn near skid off a runway...
    Those 737s are tough planes!
    Pilot's bad landing with weak gear...

    SW is still the safest of all domestic carriers and my personal fav! :D

    I liked Southwest after years of flying Jet Blue. It also was appealing that they did Midway, allowing me to avoid the mess that is O"Hare.
