Found them looking around YouTube. I am an old man of 40 and thought finding new bands was over. They are pretty damned good. Singer can wail. Would like to see them live.

I'm in the same boat - 41 years old & having a hard time finding new music. Couldn't agree more about Dead Sara... heard Weatherman on a CT radio station 6 months ago. Been listening ever since. As a long time Heart fan, I've been waiting for a powerhouse female vocalist like Emily Armstrong.
  • Yes the singer is damned awesome. And APPEARS to always be drinking coffee or bottled water on stage. So hopefully the voice lasts. There is an acoustic version of Sorry For it All where she appears to be crying during the performance for a second. The entire performance is jaw dropping. Especially just being a voice and an acoustic guitar. I think the drummer uses the pedal for his high-hat. But that is IT.

Other videos show that the guitarist cleans up well and can be pretty damned hot. Which never hurts either. But half the shows she doesn't appear to care. :D
  • I heard of Dead Sara in the summer last year when they were a supporting for the Offspring in Toronto. It wasn't until in April that I got interested in them when I found that they were added for the Orion Music and More Festival in Detroit Michigan on June 8 & 9. Although I really wanted to see them, I couldn't because they were playing from 3:15 PM to 4:00 PM and at the same time, Rise Against was holding an autograph session at 4:00 PM. There was already a lot of fans lining up at the autograph session at 3:30 PM and knowing that Rise Against only had a limited time, we decided to line up right away. Good move as the line kept increasing. However, I was able to overhear the final two songs they played (Lemon Scent and Weatherman) and man, Emily Armstrong's voice scares me!!! Nonetheless, I think they're a great band.
