Question for people who went to London show

I know they debuted the new stage there before Wrigley... but did they have the video screens there too? Even if smaller versions than Wrigley. The screens looked awesome and I'm over the arena shows where the boys are a spec in the distance with no screens like all the MSG shows I've been to. I would love to see some video screens for Brooklyn and Philly this year. Even when my seats are decent.. my eyesight isn't what it used to be. I would just be really pumped if they brought some video screens to arenas this tour that don't provide them.

There were screens - whether they were PJ's or existing ones from the arena, I can't comment - maybe someone local would know. I do know this - they were of terrible quality - and it must have been the drunk monkey running thems first day on the job.

Yup, there were screens, one smallish one on each side of the stage. It was all that was really needed given the size of the place. I do agree it was certainly a rookie running the show though...not the best job, and a lot of shaky camera work.

yes, there were screens. No where near as big as the ones at Wrigely, but they were sufficient. Like Wrigley there was two, one on each side above the stage. They probably rent all of their rigging and use the screens appropriate for the venue size and I would expect that similar set-up for the arenas in the fall.

I do remember being able to see Mike's fingers picking and fretting on the guitar, so to me, that was decent quality.

The video projected on the screen was a bit crappy by design I think.

I honestly think that the person running the in-house video feed purposely adds excessive effects and dissolves so that tapers cant set up a camera on a tripod, frame up the screen and record the whole show, add official boot audio to it after and sell it.

I could be wrong and it could have just been an atrocious job producing/directing. But then again, that's just my opinion and I'm sure there were some people who loved the "cool" effects.
  • Great thanks! I remember at the spectrum in 2009 there was screens but it was just because they were house screens and they prob just have to pay the local operator. But for places that didn't have them already like MSG in 2010 you were SOL
