    Seriously?!

I'm an idiot. I never noticed! I see it in my head and he always played right handed. My little brother will be excited.

Why doesn't he play left handed? That is my question! I haven't seen this EVER?!

Please use the YouTube for examples. I am clueless.

I'm somewhat similar, in that I'm left handed, writing with my left hand while I do most things athletically right handed (except for shoot a basketball). When I attempt to play a guitar, my instinct is to play left handed.

He learned playing guitar right handed, probably due to their being more right handed guitars out there and really when playing guitar, when you first start out, being right or left handed has no bearing because of the lack of cordination when playing. I know quite a few guitar players who are lefties, but play righty.

My stepson writes left handed but does everything else - guitar, sports etc right handed. Just a freak of nature I guess.

Never new he was left handed until now also. "Why doesn't he play left handed?" So I'm left handed also and when I started playing guitar, (I started late like in high school), my guitar teacher basically told me it'll be easier if I played righty. The reason being is the hand that plays the fret board has a little more dexterity involved. I tried both ways and found that playing righty was way easier for me. One of the few lefty advantages.

Left handed people are born evil and are going to Hell. That's why Michael is trying to turn his life around in a positive way.

Mike is left handed and learned to play guitar right handed....In an even odder twist he played some of the Hendrix show right handed on a left handed guitar:

For some reason I've known this for awhile. I think I saw him sign something years ago.

At least Ed finally learned this about Mike. Now if he could only learn how to pronounced Jeff's last name properly. I mean they've only been friends for over twenty years...

My friend heard this during the show and asked me, "Why doesn't he play guitar left handed?" I'm a lefty too, and when you play right handed guitar your left hand is doing most of the work, so it just made more sense to me.

This is an interesting debate. Why do people want to claim left handed if they do one thing with their left hand? Because its different? If you do things with both hands you're not exclusively one or the other, you're mixed. Mike isn't exclusively left handed because he writes with his left. Its like people who are 1/4 minority, 3/4 white. They claim the minority because its different. Wow, I am coming off way to serious here, take this with ease!

I agree, sort of. Guitar requires a lot of dexterity in both hands. it should be labeled an ambidextrous instrument. Even something such as a baseball swing requires a lot from both sides.

That is true. The first time I met him, I noticed he was signing stuff with his left hand. i talked to him about it later and he said that he learned how to play on a regular guitar. I told him that was the right choice because I went with trying to play a regular guitar, upside down and eventually got a lefty beginner guitar... bad decision. There are never any of the Martins or Taylors on display at the guitar shops to try out... only the 99 dollar Fenders or Yamahas or the Squires. Plus, everyone else has regular guitars.
He also throws right handed, like me... because we both only had access to right hander's gloves when we were little.
    ...
Also, Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters writes with his left and plays right handed for the same reason... access to regular guitars as a kid.

  • i played little league softball for a long time but it wasn't until i was 10 that my coach found out that i throw better with my right hand. i do 99% of everything left-handed but i would throw/pitch/catch like a righty and it was much more powerful. we tried batting righty but it wasn't very comfortable haha. i guess that makes me ambidextrous but i still refer to myself as a lefty since throwing is all i do better right-handed.
