Wow, I'm a bit heartbroken. I was refreshing ticketmaster for 10 minutes 'til they went on sale. By the time I went through the security code...nothing. I had promised to bring my friend to either Boston show. I've been hopefully trying for 20 minutes, but I'm about to give up.
Not sure I have the cash to pay the insane price of the ticket agencies.

Congrats to you lucky bastards who got tix!

i got a single for boston night one very quick in and out...
    ORCHLC

i tired back when i was done..and it said nothing was left.
  • I was only able to get 1 single ticket for each show through ticketmaster...def not complaining! But still crazy how fast they sold out...I had got shut out of both 10 club presales...

I looked at TicketsNow (a "partner" of Ticketmaster) through a link on the Ticketmaster sight just to see how much they were...found tickets in each of the same sections that I have tickets for...BALCRGT are going for $175+26 and the ORCHLC are going for $746+111...unreal - complete bulshit - Ticketmaster sucks!!!

  • No luck with DC through Ten Club or Ticketmaster. And, now I just spent 50 minutes on njpac.org for NJ show, being patient paid off, I finally got two tixs in the 4th tier, probably the last row in the place. As long I'm in the building, I'm happy. Good luck to everybody!!!

ORCHLC - whoa that is where my seats are...i'll be sitting w/the folks who rattle their jewels rather than applaud.
  • Hey, I just want to pass on to people that when you go into Ticketbastard at the moment a sale begins and you get 'no seats available', KEEP TRYING. That doesn't mean the event is sold out. They only have a certain number of ticketing threads available at any given moment, in other words, they can't process 1000 orders at once for the same venue.

Also, when tickets are offered to a user on the internet, they are locked until the person completes the sale. If they decide they don't want the seats, or their credit card is rejected, or their PC craps out halfway through, the seats come up again for someone else a few minutes later. KEEP TRYING.

    More suggestions:

    1) Have a fast PC.
    2) Have a fast internet connection.
    3) Be right on time. You MUST be hitting the event page at the moment the tix go on sale.
    4) Use two or more browsers at the same time. When you get 'no seats available' figure out how you can quickly get in to try again. It helps if you can type the security codes really fast.
    5) If you strike out asking for 4 tickets, drop back to 3, 2 or one within a few minutes, or you'll be shut out completely. Also, if the venue has different seating area choices, pick a specific area, don't just ask for 'best available'.
    6) Have your credit card ready. If you can't complete the order within a few minutes, the tickets are gone.

I started out asking for 4 seats for Chicago 2. After three minutes, I gave up and went for 2, 'best available'. After two more minutes, I hit the dropdown and asked specifically for 1st balcony. Bingo, I got two seats. Not great seats, but I'm in.

You don't always score, but if you just try a couple of times and give up, you will never score.
I'm starting to believe that this hopeless situation is what I'm trying to achieve.....
  • I got two tix to Boston night 2...single/seperate seats though...one in the balcony and one in the mezz...but not complaining a bit. Just lucky...and I got them really about 2 minutes before 1PM...
  • Online sales of tickets suck. Period.

That's where I am too :) Hopefully you didn't have to slack at work like I did: a coworker called me at 1259 et and I had to pick up real quick and say: "CANT TALK NOW CONCERT TICKETS!" *slam phone down*

What was he thinking calling me while I was refreshing??

I started refreshing three minutes before Chicago II went on sale, and when it came up, I was REALLY, REALLY fast in selecting my number of seats and typing in my phrase. Nothing, nada, nope. I was PISSED OFF. How in the hell does that happen?

I have been reading all the pissed off TM threads, and just really don't understand how something is gone that quickly. Someone enlighten me, and not with speculatory BS. :)

    Take care,
I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

I got in through Ticketmaster right at 10am. My seats are lousy, but I won't complain.

The place holds 1800 people. How could you possibly have a lousy seat?

I got 3 Upper Loge tickets for NYC 1. The situation was about the same as it was for MSG. They sold out in about 1 minute. I got mine right when they went on sale.

Actually, the Auditorium Theater holds close to 4000. My seats are 1st balcony, but almost all the way to the back, and almost all the way to one side. The website for the theater has a virtual view, and it is pretty nose bleed. It could be worse though, as the Gallery seats look to be freakishly high over the stage and even further back. I guess I'm getting spoiled, since I recently saw Rush at Red Rocks from the perfect vantage of 25th row center, and Steve Earle in Telluride at the opera house, which only holds 240 people. THAT would be the place to see EV. The acoustics were perfect and the main floor is only 15 rows deep.

I understand the acoustics at the Auditorium are also great.

Anyone with tickets to Chicago should check this out:

  • I was lucky, got one for NYC night #1, was going to try for a pair but at the last minute changed my mind and got a single. Hadn't committed to any particular friend so I decided to just do this for myself. Lower loge so I'm psyched! Hopefully it is a big fun EV lovefest all around me. :)

We were able to get tickets to DC 2, and I'm still shocked. Didn't even bother to look at seats before buying, just checked it out afterwards. We're in the leftmost section, but on the aisle, and middle-front balcony (FF, I think). I can't wait!

I spent over an hour on TM before and after they went on sale total. Was on the page exactly the time they went on. I have a crazy fast connection, and am great at typing security codes (though sometimes they were a bit unclear). Kept trying for 40 minutes. Still, no tix.
Since so many people on the board are looking for Boston tickets, I may just resort to an over-priced POS website.
I'm just hoping they'll allow press photographers so I can at least shoot the show (and earn some money to pay for those rip-off tix).
