Has anyone seen them? Checking them out in a month and am preparing to be underwhelmed after checking out youtube.

They're definitely "wild about" half assing songs from the STP catalog from what I've seen. Can't comment on the other stuff he plays but the few STP tunes I could make through were pretty atrocious.

There was a thread about these guys being the worst show someone ever saw. It was pretty much an STP karaoke night.

As a huge STP fan, I saw them in March and had to leave halfway through the show. Not only does the band suck, but Scott sounded horrible as well. Quite a disappointment.
  • they are apparently as much a train wreck as Scott's life.

I posted this a few months ago in response to another weiland thread:

I saw Scott a few months ago in Houston. I'm not a big STP fan, but I like them and was excited to see him. I've been to hundreds of concerts in my lifetime, and I can honestly say Scott Weiland's Purple to the Core was one of the worst I've ever been to. His band was fucking horrible (think of a shitty band at a bar with no cover charge), he sounded like shit (it was sad), and he didn't know the words to several of the songs (I rarely listen to STP & I knew the words!). We almost left, but we decided to stay to see how bad it could get. It was like watching a train wreck - very sad.

Here is a review from the Houston Press. It is spot on.
