Anyone?
All three are solid, and I'm thrilled to have them so soon after the show - after all that went down on Friday, from the venue, to the lightening and rain, the setlist and my sheer exhaustion, I've been reserving my ultimate "verdict" until after having a chance to digest everything.
So far, Source 3 is my favorite - to my ear it has the most vibrant sound. Source 1 has the fewest instances where individual fans' voices and singing can be picked out over the crowd as a whole, but the sound is a little more distant that Source 3. Source 2 is good, but sometimes the sound is distorted/clipped.
That being said, I almost feel guilty critiquing the work of fellow fans who went to the trouble of recording the show and making it available so I can listen and relive the show before the official boot comes out. So, I will be thanking all three tapers as I listen to Source 3 on repeat today!0 -
Thank you Darktrain and others for all the intel... great to meet a bunch of extended PJ family in Chi-Town. See you all in Baltimore and Philly.

First of all, thanks to all 3 tapers! My vote is for source 3 as well. the perodic clipping in the right channel of source 2 is the dealbreaker for me.....although it does sound really great a lot of the time.2005-9-12 London, ON

Those of you with the technical inclination should try syncing the various sources together in a program like Audacity. I thought it would sound like soup, but it actually sounds surprisingly better. They seem to complement each other well.

I lack the know-how to actually do any mixing, but just layering the four sources on top of each other makes Release sound AMAZING.

First one I tried was Present Tense using three of the four, just to try it out. As you said...just amazing how it sounds...almost 3D-like!Mike D88 wrote:demetrios wrote:Mike D88 wrote:Those of you with the technical inclination should try syncing the various sources together in a program like Audacity.
