I've been to 3 PJ shows and only got it once. Currently Leash, Immortality and Go are ahead of it for me.

"Betterman" is one of the biggest, most recognizable hits, still in rotation on radio after almost nineteen years. One thing we lose sight of sometimes on this board--we superfans are not the majority of ticket buyers, and for every show, probably at least half the people are at their first Pearl Jam concert. So it doesn't bother me when crowd-pleasers get played.

(That said, "Last Kiss" was technically the highest-charting hit, but I don't care to hear that in concert. The only time I saw them do it was in 1998, before they'd put out the single, so it didn't bother me then, but would feel like a wasted setlist space now.)

They could just Play Save it for later instead. I think they enjoy the sing along part, so it will probably stay.

They didn't play it the show-before-last....Chile on April 6th.
They normally do though and why wouldn't they? The crowd signs half of the song and goes mental.
I like rarities as well but I would rather Better Man than Bee Girl or Help, Help. Personal preference....

For an arena show its one of the ones Id like to see left out

But I cant wait for the sing a long at Wrigley.

Its one of the first songs Ed ever wrote and it must blow him away every time he hears the crowd sing it.

Wow I was at Columbus 2010 and have the boot and have never noticed it missing. Considered that one of the best shows I've seen as well. I guess I didn't even realize how sick I am of it. I like DTE but I've actually seen it more times than Alive or Even Flow. I'm kinda bored with it. I am hoping for a slow burning set packed with NAIS, Hard To Imagine, Black, Tremor Christ, etc. bust out Brain of J, Leash, Big Wave, or Animal and let's skip the evolution every once in a while.

6 out of 11 shows for me.

Almost half. Meanwhile, I have seen Alive and DTE 10 times and Even Flow at 8.

On paper I'd choose rarities over 'The Big Five' (Alive, Even Flow, Jeremy, Betterman, Daughter)...but when they start playing them, it's all good.

But they have to appease the 'fans' who haven't heard much from them since Vs. or Vitalogy.

For me...I figure it's a good time for a quick restroom break!

9 shows for me and Given To Fly and Betterman are the only two songs left that I have seen at every show.

Corduroy and Even Flow were on the list too, but they didn't get played in Toronto on Sept. 11, 2011.

But yes, as already mentioned, lots of people are at their first PJ show, so they need to throw in the "hits" as well....

Replace Jeremy with Just Breathe or The Fixer :)

I think I've gotten Jeremy 2 time out of 10 shows.

C'mon, you really leave during 'Alive' to take a leak? Perhaps you've seen too many shows.

it amazes me when people have seen other songs more than even flow. i didn't get an even flow free show until pj20, which was something like my 19th show. and then it only took until my next show, missoula, to get another even flow free show. funny how that works. i expect wrigley will not be even flow free, however, and that is a-ok.

Yes, I thought about that after I posted. How about EWBTC? Or Corduroy (but I dig that one every time).

It's all about the timing. A guy has to take a break if he's had a few 'pops' before/during the show! If Alive is being played where it's usually played (near the end) then no, I'm not leaving. But once mother nature calls and I hear a song I've heard a lot before live, especially when it's one of the aforementioned songs, then yes...I bolt to the bathroom!!!
