Indian Summer (fall foliage) 2013 need some hints & tipps

Same procedure like the last US tours we will combine our holyday with the upcoming tour. This time we would like to see and enjoy the fall foilage (indian summer) in Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, etc.
Our PJ tour will start in Worcester, but we have some time in advance.
Where should we go? Places, parcs, cities?
How much time should spent? A few days? A week?

I really appreciate every reply. :clap:
maybe we will see us in person at on of the concerts and we can invite you for a beer :corn:

    any place you see a wide spread of forests & rolling hills. fantastic. if you can, hit 'em all. picnics & back road country driving to & from national parks/national forests. get out a atlas & plan out your adventure. this way you know where you are going & you'll know the closest routes to take, the best routes & things

    dial it up on the internet. also in my opinion, i'd avoid crowds of folks doing the same thing you are. small towns out of the loop away from the cities. if you have a camera maybe you can post your pictures of your trip

    Acadia National Park, Maine. I cannot recommend this place enough.

    This is the first draft of our trip ...
    After arriving in Boston we will drive to Acadia. I think we will do an overnight stay in Portland/Brunswick or Bangor.
    Next bigger place/region after Acadia should be White Mountain / Franconia Notch State Park.
    We may make a stop at Burlington, but this is a place with lower priority.
    Then we will go to Adirondack.
    Finally we will go to Worcester.
    Are 10 days sufficient? I think so, but I'm not sure.
    How much time should plan for the parcs?

    Is it usefull to book accomodation in advance? Especially if we visit smaller towns.

    Pictures will be taken and probably uploaded.

    amount of time you need depends on what you will do ... if you plan on doing a lot of hiking - you may need more time ... if you are just gonna drive around looking at fall colours ... you've got plenty ... as for accommodations - i'm not sure as I usually camp ... but depending on your road trip goes - you might be able to save a few bucks by booking online ... however, having some flexibility to stay longer or bail early is always nice ...

    We will do some hiking. I think during this 10 days trip we will do approximately three or four longer trails. Maybe one longer trail in each of the parcs.
    We can't / won't camp. We prefer more bed and breakfast accomodations or smaller hotels.
    If someone has recommendations in Maine, New Hamphire, Vermont or Massachusetts I would be more than happy.

    I can't recommend any locations but if you prefer b&b's I'd definitely try to book them in advance. Lots of people go there for the foliage and small places tend to fill up pretty fast.
