Corporate ticket sales to the other casinos/hotels were not good in Vegas, this leads to last minute ticket drops/papering. During the off season, these are difficult to unload last minute as the die hards already have our tickets.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

I think that if this show was on a Saturday night it would have easily sold out. Having a show on a Thursday in July, when the town is booked with conventioneers doesn't help. FYI - The only empty seats were a handful of sections directly on the other end of the arena (upstairs of course).

With that said, I had an awesome time. This was my second time seeing them electric and they are easily the greatest rock band going.

i remember seeing the pumpkins at the thomas and mack at the peak of their popularity in ´96 and basically the whole upper sections were empty, the place was maybe 2/3rds full, also a weekday in summer, must have something to do with it

I was at that too. While Vegas is getting more populated every month, I dont know that the city can support a Pearl Jam concert without people coming in from out of town, which isnt an issue when the show is on the weekend.

True True. I had supposed "VIP Seating" through the MGM = Section L211, Row C. While there were a few diehards dancing and into it around me, I also had numerous empty seats as well as people who sat most the show, ala comp seats??? The place was more rockin' in '03, which I think was a June concert, the the hot weather really isn't a factor.

I wonder how many people left to get cheaper beer outside the venue, and didn't come back due to the pro's, slot machine's, crap's tables etc. That's the dangerous thing about letting people back in and out. Sometimes people don't. I'm sure it was designed that way by the casino....
