OSU fan, 12, beats cancer he named 'Michigan'
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State football fans always want to defeat what they call ``That school up North.''
So, when a 12-year-old Buckeyes fan was diagnosed with cancer 14 months ago, he chose to name his disease Michigan. He wanted to beat it. And he did.
The fan, Grant Reed, was released from Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus Friday after a final chemotherapy session.
Grant's father, Troy Reed, says his son has readmitted to the hospital over the weekend because of a bacterial infection, but he says the boy is doing ``very well.''
The boy's father says the Reeds watched OSU games in Grant's hospital room during the weekends he was admitted to receive chemotherapy treatment last fall.
The Buckeye's head coach Urban Meyer visited the boy at the hospital in December.

Thought 81 and other OSU fans would enjoy this... Very glad he beat cancer.
But I still say Go Blue!

all kidding aside, if this was a michigan kid beating a buckeye....i'd support that.....the important thing is the cancer appears to be gone...and hopefully it stays that way.
kudos to a michigan person for posting it.
Nice story to hear. Beating cancer is a good deal mental, and if this helped him then both teams served its purpose!
Now if the Tribe could just beat the friggin' Tigers.
O-H...
