Floor seats suck

Why do people think having seats on the floor is a good thing? Unless you are in the first 20 rows, it is better to have seats on the side of the stage.

I think it depends on concert experience.

If you've been to enough concerts, you've had seats on the back half of the floor. You know from that experience that the wings are better.

However if your a concert novice and have never had that situation... you really want to be on the floor where the action is :) I remember that from my younger days. Being in the 2nd level of a stadium for a u2 concert and wishing I was on the floor. Now I'm much pickier about my tickets.

The weird thing is that Pearl Jam shows tend to be the ones I get the worst tickets for. I fare a lot better with concerts without fan clubs, or other fan clubs. I guess PJ is too damned popular :)

That is so true - give me close side section any time, even if it is high up. I've been at the back of the floor looking at the back of someone's head all night more times than I'd have liked.

the one thing the floor has going for it beyond the first few rows having great views, is that (especially in arenas) the sound is best near the soundboard, hence why it is typically located where it is for most bands.

I love side stage seats, but they're always tricky to get. The usually aren't part of the original onsale. If there is sufficient demand they tend to go on sale later. Could be later that day, in a few weeks, in the last few weeks before the show happens. So I've only gotten them to a few shows, but I love 'em.

I went to the foo fighters show in Vancouver a few years ago and the floor was packed. They had a walkway through the middle of the floor, but it looked like they sold the same amount of tickets as an empty floor. I noticed that they there was a clear divisible line where the stopped selling the beside stage tickets. Told my wife to trust me and we climbed up there and sat 10th row beside the stage... awesome view... security noticed we were there (and a handful of other people did the same thing) but didn't give us flack for it.

I would hope if there's a 2nd seattle show, that I somehow score pit tix or beside stage tix for it. I'm assuming it won't have 10c tickets or it would of been in the rest of the announcement?
