going for reserved seats....don't think the wife will want to stand being 7 months pregnant at that time
GA certainly not an option in that case. So a Christmas baby? Congrats.
Hopefully 10c hooks you up with seats close to a ladies room.

What would you consider early? Would 3 be okay? I usually get out of work at 7:30 but I am free to leave at 5. I am thinking I could just get in early that day and leave early.

Driving down from NH too. Chose this show over Woostah, since it's on a Friday. Went to the last show there in 2010. Kicked-ass.

No, by the time you reach CT you'll be screwed on 95. I'd leave by 2 at the latest. JMO.

Thanks for your input. Honestly, I am now considering going to the Baltimore show instead of this one. If Baltimore was on Saturday (which I thought it was when I first looked at the dates) I would be there for sure. Hmmm, decisions decisions. If I dont go to Hartford now the top 5 songs I am dying to hear will all be played .

Just a heads up, I think you'll make it in time for the show if you leave by 3. My answer was based on if you wanted to get there a lil' earlier to relax, eat and drink. But if you're fine with getting there and going right in,I think you'll be fine.

But yeah, that 95 will be annoying, esp on a Friday.

Thanks again. I am a worry wort though so it may not be worth the hassle. I must say that the 2008 show was fantastic though and the 2010 boot sounded really good.

 I can't believe you're worried about CT. Yeah, 95 in CT will be a horror show, but don't you have to get over a bridge to get out of Queens first? Good luck with that.

But, 3 PM - even so you should be fine for the show itself. You won't have much lead, but you leave by 3, you'll be there by 6:30. Remember, from Queens it's only like 110 miles or so (depending on where you are). It's not far. But, I wouldn't leave at 3 because I'd be ready to shoot someone by the time I reached the completely f'd up 91/84 interchange just south of Hartford even though you're not even getting on 84. I've never seen such a poorly planned update to an interchange for such a tiny city in my life. You could go by that on a Sunday morning and it's 20/25 minutes trying to get by. On a Friday night?!! That'll be as much fun as getting over whichever bridge you decided to take.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

I'm worried about both. Getting to the Triboro Bridge on Fridays nights is beyond torture. I don't need to do anything besides the show besides (hopefully) pick up 10C tix.

Heres a factor I didnt even consider until I read your post- I work in Westchester NY so I would already be 40 minutes north. Okay, screw it I am going to Hartford!

Its a Friday afternoon in the summer. Its 4pm. Googlemaps is telling me that my office to the XL Center would take 2 hours. Lets double that- I am still there by 8.

The morning of the '10 show as I was sitting at the airport in Toronto waiting for my flight to Hartford I was texting a friend and made plans at the last minute to rent a car once I got to Hartford and drive to NYC for the night to meet him and have fun before driving back to Hartford the next day for the flight home. To make a story short: after the concert, I got on the I-91 and if anyone else recalls driving southbound about 15-20 minutes outside of Hartford the I-91 northbound was completely shut down after a severe accident blocked all lanes and the cops were detouring motorists off the road. The line-up of cars stuck bumper to bumper stretched for a couple of miles at least. I remember thinking if that had happened the following morning I likely would have missed my flight as I left my drive back to Hartford to the last possible moment.
