Are you able to smoke in bars in Detroit? Asking for packing purposes.

Do you know if the Cobo roof parking lot closes at 11 on event nights or do they extend the hours?

I'd imagine they'd stay open until the show ends... how long they'll stay open in anyone's guess (typical time is an hour after the show/game). I will tell you that getting out of the JLA parking garage after a Wings game is an absolute fucking disaster (especially if you get stuck on the upper levels). I avoid parking there like the plague. If you want to be in a garage for vehicle safety reasons, I'd go over to Greektown or park in the garage at the RenCen across from the Marriott. If you're staying in town that night, there's no reason to park at the JLA... park over at Greektown and hit up some of the bars/restaurants downtown after the show.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm driving back to Windsor after the show so maybe it's better to park a little further from JLA

No smoking in bars in Detroit... and Hawk123, just park over at the RenCen Marriott then. The parking deck is right next to the tunnel.

It's not in an *awful* area (Rivertown), but I think I'm safe in saying you're the only person going to the show who's staying there. :D It's like a poor man's Red Roof Inn. Bring a sleeping bag and your own pillow because personally I wouldn't touch the sheets there.

At least it's connected to Clique which is a pretty goddamn good breakfast spot.

I hope they don't hold anything back for Moline. Being night 1 of a 2 nighter makes me nervous. I really hate the idea of "saving something" for the second night. It would piss me off to know that happened, like why are my tickets less valuable than someone going to Moline?

    ^^^This.

Not to mention it's not as if the band is hitting the road right after the DET show. They'll fly into Moline the next afternoon and be well-rested.

Anywhere between the Joe and the Ren Cen (Westin) on the riverfront is fine. Anywhere along Woodward Ave and few blocks east and west of Woodward, up to Comerica Park is fine. Even Woodward up to Midtown/Wayne State area is fine, but don't stray off of Woodward past Comerica Park.

    Here's a map: https://www.michigan.gov/documents/MDOT-State-Map-Downtown-Detroit_64063_7.pdf

Area inside the freeway loop 10 - 75 - 375 if pretty safe. Anything inside people mover loop (dark black line labeled B is especially safe. This is where everything is anyway. Hope that helps.
