I agree with this, but at the same rate we can't really complain because we are SO lucky that PJ is even playing in our area as often as they do! There are so many places in the world that PJ rarely visits and plays so I guess I'll take YL with the SSB tag if it means they keep returning to our area :D!!! But I do totally understand your thinking!!!

  • Hearing Indifference as a closer was a highlight for me even though most people around me werent into the song on Thursday. I thought they were finishing with Baba. But I heard that 1st guitar chord I knew they were playing it.

Yellow Ledbetter I just think its a way the band says good night to the fans. First time I heard the Star Spangled Banner tag at the end and I thought it was great.

What an insignificant complaint... lol.... especially when you consider so many big bands will design a setlist and play it in every city. Im always amazed that PJ make every single setlist different.

yes, i think it's like their 'signature' goodnight to the fans. you always know, that's it....whether YL or RITFW or baba. i too wouldn't mind a bit of a shake up, but they ALWAYS give such a great show, and after a long night of giving their all, if that is how they coose to end it.....i am still a VERY happy dreamer. :)

  • i actually think they don't mind it that people starting leaving during Ledbetter. I feel it's kinda the point. They play a last number for you to walk out on. Lights on and everything so you don't trip on your ass. It's pretty sweet. The way I see it, it's like you spent an evening in their home and they see you out, made sure you had a good time and everything.

I also think it's great they play Last Kiss to the back. You know the people in the back are probably not rabid fans and it's a good way to get them into the show. it shows that the band doesn't only play for its devoted fans but thinks of everybody.

Basically, I think they fucking kick ass. That's the point I'm trying to make here.

a lot of times, Ledbetter is a cherry on top, a sign the band is having fun.

We were gonna end with Baba, but here's one more.
We were gonna end with Indifference, but here's one more.

A lot of times, it's an EXTRA song. So just be happy they played something else. Would you rather hear nothing?

I agree, it's that or just end with RITFW. Be glad you have it!

i agree with you on YL, but just had to disagree about those sitting in the back not being rabid fans. maybe, maybe not. i sat rearstage dead center row 2 for boston 2004....and i think i am a serious fan. sometimes it's simply a choice b/c maybe 10C tix weren't avaialable, there are still some rabid fans who never joined 10C....and it just happens. i saw many people rearstage last night rockin' out to everything. just had to comment, just b/c you're behind the stage has ZERO to do with how 'rabid' a fan you are...whole host of reasons why one may end up - choose - such seats. :)

    otherwise, yes...as discussed....YL is the goodbye/goodnight/thankyou song. :)

I agree with you no doubt, but as a whole I guess you would expect the fans to have managed to get their filthy little hands on the best tickets, generally speaking. But yeah there's definitely people rocking back there. I actually sat back there a few times myself... one of which was the second boston show in 2004. Perhaps I was rocking out with you!

    just sayin'. :p

    may be!
we were 2nd row dead center behind matt. ed in particular came to the back a LOT that night....he must've 'sensed' me and jamainiac were back there...:p. also managed to get matt's setlist that night, the only time i've gottem anything from a show...so very cool. :)

but yea, that's my point...if there's no 10C tix, or you get shut out, miss the sale...whatever.....it happens often enough. just b/c i am diehard doesn't mean i will pay scalper prices...or i may not be able to hook up with someone else with 10C tix...and honestly, after boston 04...i would far prefer sitting rearstage than all the way at the back of the venue. :)

I hear you, the back can be sweet... but the fucking BEST I'VE EVER HAD (and I sat just about anywhere including against 3rd row from the rail at Borgata) was actually UPPER DECK FIRST ROW dead center across the stage. I had those seats last night and it was mind boggling! You have nothing in front of you but open space. You're watching from above and it sounded the best too. Feels like you're just hanging in space above the venue. Was like one of those senate meetings at Star Wars. Very surreal. complete open view of the stage and the whole arena.

just had to comment, just b/c you're behind the stage has ZERO to do with how 'rabid' a fan you are...whole host of reasons why one may end up - choose - such seats. :)

THANK YOU decides2dream. thank you for commenting on that. :)

some of us don't have credit cards, live out of town and who must rely solely on the timing of their credit-card-holding-friend/family-member-who-just-happens-to-be-shit-out-of-luck no matter where they go to get tickets and you end up in the nosebleed section where you, and your friend/family member seem to be among the few rockin' out to each tune and getting yelled at and kicked by pre-pubescent girls (who are talking on cell phones and chewing gum through the whole show) for blocking their view of Eddie and all the while you are grinning ear-to-ear and screaming your lungs out because you've waited 15 LONG fucking years for this moment to FINALLY happen.

i wish people wouldn't automatically assume that if you aren't in 10c seats you aren't a real fan. i'm not directing all of this to you Tonton because i know you weren't being mean-spirited with your comment. it just annoys the fuck out of me when people get on their 10c high horse and put the rest of us low-lifes down.

and while i'm at it...if people are tired of hearing the same songs over and over again stop going to so many shows! you wanted LEASH, bam, you got it. now you're bitching that they are playing it too much. you are annoyed when they play Ledbetter so much...but you bitch when they don't play it. can't people just be happy to have the chance to see their favourite band play? can't people, just for once, be satisfied that they have just had an incredible experience?

there are some of us out here who would listen to Ed playing the spoons, mike on the kleenex box guitar, matt banging on pots and pans, jeff playing a bass made of a bucket, a mop handle and a string, and stone playing back up dancer. hell, boom could even be playing one of those tinny-sounding kids pianos and we wouldn't care!

please, be thankful for what you have, because you are all richer than you'll ever know.

let the flames come because it's cold, rainy and i'm a little chilly. i could use the warmth. ;)

I'm totally with you. I do realize they are big fans out back there. I've only used my 10c number once to get seats actually. I've sat all over the place. I've actually sat back of the arena three times. I would recommend it to the 10club members actually. it's cool to see the shows from different perspective, I'm sure first 10 rows is fun as hell but take a chance and check out another point of view too...

and i was complimenting the band on Last Kiss and YL, I don't mind the repeats whatsover...
