Dunno, but it doesn't pass the smell test for me.
This shit happens all of the time... to young black males... latinos... and Arabic looking people all the time and Americans are perfectly okay with it. When it is a young white woman petting a kitten through a fence... it is a widespread police abuse of power and make the news.
I hated this thing when states imposed it beginning in 2001. I hate the ideal of cops being able to stop and frisk at their descretion, without probable cause. I dispised the courts rulling in favor of these laws.
And I particularly hate that these laws were tolerated up until the point where a President they didn't vote for came into office. This shit has been happening since 2001... and no one gave a shit because their guy and their court said it was okay.
Quit being a partisan douche and get pissed off at what is happening... to young black men, latinos, Arabic looking people... not just young white female vegans.

It is sickening. and the most sickening part of the story behind the story is it's been happening for over a decade.
In those states with 'Stop and Frisk' laws, you can be stopped by a cop and frisked for any reason they see fit. You just 'look suspicious' or you 'look like you might be up to something'.
It's all because we let FEAR get the better part of us and let them get away with it. We are afraid of black men... we are afraid of 'Illegal' imigrants.. we are afraid of Arabs. So, we let the cops get away with this kind of shit. Cops have guns, tasers and nightsticks... as a badge that authorizes them to wield them. Not all cops are good people... just like not all people are good people. Difference being... gun, taser, nightstick and badge.

Not to mention that the majority of police officers are W.M.A.s; white males who may likely be xenophobes, while holding a weapon. A dangerous situation to be any minority...
In my mind, it's a dangerous situation to be at the hands of anyone who has a bone to pick (having "authority" doesn't help, but still).
My experiences have shown me that being a dick isn't relegated to race or profession or religion, etc...

You are exactly right. We let fear take over and created the Patriot act to thunderous applause. The Patriot Act is dismantling our rights and legislators create laws that our executive office okays and our courts rule in favor of. The fear of another September 11th attack has actually proved that those tactics did exactly what those terrorists wanted... for us to change who we are. We are doing this to ourselves... the terrorists aren't doing it to us. We let our fear of terrorist... do exactly what the terrorists want... by our own hand and of our own free will.

It's the young one's that scare me, despite what their heritage, these kids are being trained to be Gun-Ho, us vs them mentalities. They all seem to have something to prove...
On a racial note however, ALL, ALL traffic officers are from India, i believe there is one guy in charge of hiring and if you don't look like him you're not getting the job.
