    tofu actually isn't bad when it's cooked as if it was chicken or another meat, like in a stir-fry. straight up though, it's rubbery and fuggin weird.

    Nah, it's not a sense of entitlement... it's a sense of having the balls to do it... I didn't know any of those other 99,999 people (ok well maybe I did but not the ones I walked through) and I just strolled up to the front after kings of leon when the crowd dispersed a bit... some of the people in the middle bitched a bit but for fuck sake, there's space for another 10,000 between them and the stage... where do they get THEIR sense of entitlement to all that space?

    my suggestion to people would be, as much as you want to get close for Pearl Jam, don't just park yourself infront of the main stage all day. There's a lot going on at these festivals and you really do miss out on some great stuff by just waiting for one band, even if it is Pearl Jam.

    I've been to shows around this size before, its surprisingly easy to get pretty close without being a dick. Not everyone there will be a die hard Pearl Jam fan, so a fair amount of people will hang slightly farther back, where they can sit in the grass. The crowd will be spaced out enough that you will find large enough gaps to stand in and watch the show. Most (all?) of the big festivals have the crowd seperated by barriers, so there isn't one big crush. Your best bet, in a lot of cases, is to walk along the side of the crowd until you're just inf ront of one of these barriers. The crowd is never backed right up against them, so you can easily slide in there and look for a better spot.

    That goes without saying on the days when PJ isn't playing. But with my French and Irish friends here, and they're not exactly virgins at major festivals, if it means being front and centre (or at least front and Mike), they'll park their arses up there right after the headlining act from the night before gets off stage ;)
