I wish PJ had more accessible rehearsals. Part of the excitement of being a die hard Stones fans is the nightly reports from outside the rehearsal studios, especially when the rarities show up. I remember being fired up to the point of not being able to sleep well that night when we learned that Mick Taylor was rehearsing Sway and Can't You Hear Me Knocking before this current tour. There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.0

Would be awesome if they did a couple of surprise sets to get tight before the actual tour.0

that's like seeing the movie before you read the book. Hello...............It's called being spontaneous. Hell we have enough rumors as it is........They are professionals and I'm sure they have their way of being ready. Like a sports team. They have good nights and bad nights(not really any bad, but u know what I mean). I remember in 2000 at Noblesville (which was late in the tour) they started out like they wanted to complete entire concert in a hour. Everything real fast and almost rushed, but then its like they settled in and the crowd had great energy. It turned into a great show. They worked it out right there on stage and you could feel the shift.00' Noblesville, IN 03' Lexington, KY, 13' Wrigley0

The intro to the Mike interview with the Gasman on PJ radio said that Mike was taking a break from rehearsals for the July shows in London and Wrigley.
And, when they used to have the warehouse in the old South Lake Union location, there's a few of us that would sit a block or two away and be stoked when they left the roll up door openThey definitely rehearse!
I will not lose my Faith, it's an Inside job today....0 -

I was at that show and I've listened to it a bajillion times and I just have to guess that you're remembering a different show. They came out with a bunch of rockers, but at no time was it rushed. Listen to how they play now if you want rushed.
You are correct in stating it was a great show, though.
I think for the amount of money they make and as few shows as they play they probably need to rehearse more. No idea what their rehearsal regimen has ever been, but they used to be tighter and had few big noticeable mistakes.0 -
What I gather from the interviews is that they mostly rehearse during soundcheck and sometimes don't rehearse at all. I can imagine they have some jam sessions in the studio while making the album and/or have some small rehearses before a major tour. But since they don't have a solid setlist, not too much I reckon.
Poor Matt had to know how many songs in how many weeks - says a lot about rehearsing...0
