i once caught a catfish and his eyes were looking at my eyes, and I threw him back.
But I tell you, there's nothing better than catching some Mahi and tossing it on the grill nice and fresh.

I also once caught a sting ray. That was unexpected and weird.

Fishing is alright, but too much work for me to enjoy anymore. Two friends went out on their boat this past saturday the entire day and caught nothing. thats a long boat ride jus tto come home and get taco bell.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

I like fishing. I have a boat and 2 fishing kayaks, but I don't use them near as much as I should.

My favorite fishing is during the winter for smallmouth bass.

I haven't been fishing in years.

I do enjoy it from time to time.

Though, sitting in a boat all damn day without so much as a bite makes me reconsider at times!

I was riding my bike home one day along East River and saw a guy pull out the largest striper I have ever seen near Chinatown.

Caught my first bonefish on Cat Island, Bahamas. Had a dozen good size bones on the incoming tide 8-)

As for Montauk, I live in Florida now & only get to fish there a few days in early October. A bunch of old fireman friends camp out at Hithers during the week. I would never fish there on a weekend,it's f#ckn crazy  . Just like I would never ski the NE on a weekend. One of the advantages of being a fireman, being Off during the week .

Abaco is where I visit. Been there three times. Just unbelievable. Biggest is a 9 pounder. Light tackle sight fishing for bones in shorts-now thats my kind of fishing!

Camping at hithers and fishing the beach is really nice. We used to hit the south side rocks. Had some great fly-fishing there as well. Nothing like blitz in the rocks! I just cant stand the people out there now. I suppose it would tolerable mid week in oct!

Went fishing a few years in a row...didn't catch anything, and then a friend gave me a 'pocket fisherman'...

    Pocket_Fisherman.jpg

caught a rockfish and halibut the first day I used it

Haven't been for a while, need to find someone with a boat-someone gave us some really nice rods.

I prefer crabbing, mmmmmm.....fresh dungeness crab, oh yeah, I prefer that to lobstah.
