picked up a bottle of Balvenie 15 year single barrel

smells almost sweet, especially when compared to bourbon.....

not sure if i am going to like this...time to taste

first taste.......

bourbon is better

    i fear when we meet it might result in fisticuffs.

    there are several different types of scotch. my favorites are the smokey (try a 10 year talisker) and the peaty (try a 16 year lagavullin).

    my go-to bottle is a talisker 10 year. although my favorite of late has been the 14 year Oban.... if you have the money to spend, I highly recommend you give that a try.

    the eagle rare was great.... but I'm not going to jump ship from my love of single malt scotch....

    Surprised to see there is not much interest in this thread.
    I have a few Scotch single malt and blended, they add some joy to evenings. Feels elegant and natural at the same time. Sophisticated and pleasant stuff.
