I thought it was a reissue coz I thought my original 1995 double LP pressing was in a gatefold sleeve. I moved from Adelaide to Dublin in 2001, so I have not actually SEEN my 1995 original copy in many years, so I MAY BE MISTAKEN.
This issue has no info on the liner notes indicating it is a reissue. I will quote all of the writing on the bottom rear cover below. It's a double album. No gatefold. It has a single black and white double-sided paper insert in it. One side is black paper with white handwritten lyrics. The flip side of the insert has the top two thirds taken up with a black and white pic of the band shot from behind with their arms around each other's shoulders. The bottom third, under the photo, is the liner notes. At the end of the liner notes, in smaller writing, it says: "c 1995 REPRISE RECORDS 9362-45934-1"
The bottom of the rear cover has: "REPRISE RECORDS A TIME WARNER COMPANY.3300 WARNER BLVD, BURBANK, CA 91505-4694-75 ROCKERFELLER PLAZA, NEW YORK, NY 10019-C903. C 1995 REPRISE RECORDS FOR THE U.S. AND WEA INTERNATIONAL INC. FOR THE WORLD OUTSIDE THE us. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. UNAUTHORIZED DUPLICATION IS A VIOLATION OF APPLICABLE LAWS.
Made in Germany by WARNER MUSIC MANUFACTURING EUROPE."
The catalogue number on the spine is: 9362-45934-1.
I *assumed* it was a new repressing for several reasons:
1. They had two copies in stock and BOTH are MINT
2. They are difficult to find.
3. I *thought* my original 1995 pressing I bought in Oz is a gatefold, but now I think I may be mistaken.
4. The cost 29.95 Euros each. I bought both copies. But they may have more in stock. I do not know.
The name of the store is RAGE and it is located on Fade St in Dublin.
What do ye think guys?
Are there boots of this?
There is a sealed copy at my local record shop
It does not a have a sticker on the cover and
the barcodes are the same on dischogs.
If it is a boot does anyone know what the
sound quality is like?
There are a lot of Neil Young bootlegs around in Europe at the moment, I've seen a few such as Unplugged and Eldorado. Was quite taken in by the front sleeve then a closer inspection showed the small print was not very good quality, like a poor scan. It might be a bootleg or then again its funny what old sealed copies of things lurk in warehouses.

I don't really know anything, but when i was shopping for Mirror Ball i remember being warned about watching out for boot copies of it by other vinyl-savvy members here because tuere are a lot of them, apparently (I would personally never choose to buy a bootleg copy of anything over the real thing... but then, i am financially irresponsible when it comes to vinyl. Perhaps getting boot copies is a good way to go for people more in control about it than i am. ).

I'm not sure because if it's listed over @ http://www.rhinorecords.ca/shop/Feature ... fault.aspx under a reissue, it must of been an official release? I've seen these now popping up on eBay, Amazon and many other 3rd party companies selling it as a "reissue" so maybe it is?

Discogs has it listed as unofficial.

rhinorecords.ca is a steaming pile of crap. They list a number of albums they don't actually carry in stock so you can't really go by what they list on their website.
I did notice my local record store (Ditch Records) had copies of this in stock about two weeks ago. Ditch often gets bootlegs in. I also noticed they got fresh stock of Tools Aenima album which hasn't been reissued either. The mirrorball's are probably fakes?
I find discogs.com to be the most trustworthy source of accurate info. If it says they're unofficial reissues aka boots there, then i'm inclined to believe it.

How come you bought two instead of giving your fellow dublinets a heads up ;-)
I had ordered Wildflowers and my order said "In Process" for the last few days. Today I logged in and it said "Cancelled." No e-mail or anything though.
Being an old fuck, I can't recall why peeps are so crazy about this album. I'm drunk; gimme time. But really...
If you want it, I've got it. Opened; gently played. It's not Pearl Jam, so why the fuss?? But let me spin it 1 more time just to see what everyone's worked up about....(this was the tail end of Petty's heyday, in my book, BUT! I'm drunk; gimme time.).

I picked up the German bootleg version today, anyone have it? How does it sound?
I guess this is an old post, but I was in Sonic Boom in Toronto on the weekend, and they mark all their bootlegs with an "unofficial" sticker. They had copies of mirrorball with the unofficial sticker, so this at least confirms what we already know, that there's bootleg copies out there with wide distribution.
I wish my local record store did that. They put the bootlegs out like they are regular releases. If you weren't familiar with the material (ie know enough why a 90 dollar record is being sold for 35) you might buy it thinking its real..... I love my local record store but I always have to be careful.

So I'm thinking what you have is an official original Euro pressing as opposed to the original US pressing. Did you check it out on discogs.com? That will tell you for sure.
