when you are in a poetry, spoken word class and
your pen is scribbling as fast as you can with
not a single stroke coming easily, you should
not STOP writing whether you like it or not
the skeleton hanging by Ida's door is hanging stripped and naked
for all to see
boy that carpeting is multi-hued! you wonder how old is it, is it still off-gassing?
all the others are pensive
pens are wagging, faces smiling, frowning, some skeptical stitched brows
the teacher is eating chocolate in the most decadently satisfied way, being vegan and all
your hand is trembling, fingers numb
you should probably give up,
the violins are playing a madly dissonant screech
like a child's first lesson with a fiddle
