I haven't purchased any shows from these years yet, but I am thinking I might start soon! My question is, is the cd version just FLAC (with cover art) or can u get a FLAC HD cd version as well? Or is the FLAC HD version only available through download? Lastly, has anyone heard both the FLAC and the FLAC HD versions and is the HD version significantly better? I'm all about quality and the more I can hear the band over the crowd the better so I was leaning towards he HD version anyways! Thanks much for any help! Later

I think the quality from the actual cd is as good as it needs to be as the shows were very well recorded. Even the mp3's sound ok. I'm no expert but I think the FLAC HD is the best you're going to get although I've heard of some members here having trouble finding a system suitable to play them on. Try sending a PM to our friend Demetrios in Halifax who I know has downloaded all of them and is very helpful. I'm sure he'll give you the advice you need.
Like a book among the many on a shelf...

    Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
    Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12

24 Bit Flac-HD is only available in digital download. If they were offering the HD format on disc, DVD-Audio, that would be sweet! 16 bit Flac via CD is what they are offering.

If you are playing the Flacs or 24 Bit Flac-HD on a desktop PC using regular 2 desktop speakers, you can't tell the difference. But playing them with high end speakers from an entertainment system, you're ears will tell the difference right away.

    For sure! :)

I play the Flac-HD files through my PS3 Media Server. Someday I would like to convert / burn them on all on DVD-Audio discs. If you have a laptop with HDMI port, just plug & play that on your HDTV / speakers. Playing the HD Flac files, Winamp & VLC Player works like a charm.
  • I'm assuming that the HD FLAC files are bigger than regular FLAC? How many standard discs will it take for a 30 song PJ show? Thanks again! Later
