You know the kind. Goodies you can't stop eating no matter how hard you try. My latest addiction- and these are seriously addicting:

This time of year, it's summer fruit.

Watermelon, and those plums that are dark red inside. The house I grew up in had a huge tree in the backyard that bore that fruit.

Fuckers who bought the home from us chopped it down.

And cherries! god I love them, seed-spitting aside.

(now I'm reminded of Goodbye Columbus - great summer read)

I dig the crunchy too and will check out those chips!

Yes! Summer fruit has been great here already. Blueberries, cherries, peaches, watermelon. Yum!

Bummer about the cherry tree getting chopped down. How insane! When I was a kid, my folks had great fruit trees- peach, cherry, apple, apricot. The apricot tree was outrageous- tons of juicy fruit. I've never seen a more productive tree or had better apricots anywhere. But along came new neighbors who put in a swimming pool. They ran a pump 24/7 for weeks and drained the water table in the neighborhood. Within a few years most of our trees died. We tried watering but the trees were used to the deep, rich water table.

This thread makes me hungry every time I look at it. I go raid the fridge, come back and read it again, raid the fridge, ad infinitum. A vicious cycle. A thread about food addiction that causes food addiction.
