more harmonies!

Was just listening to the great version of all those Yesterdays on the new vault release. I got to thinking about how the whole band can sing pretty well. It would be cool if they worked more harmonies into the show. Ed does so much vocal layering in the studio that would be so cool interpreted live. That would mean a bunch of practice though! :D

    It seems like Matt does a lot of it these days and he does great. I've heard Jeff get a little pitchy sometimes, but he can swing it. Stone sound especially good on his new stuff, and Mike's been singing more here and there in recent years... and Boom?

    Sure gets my vote, there have been some great harmonies on record (Nothingman, Lowlight etc) that haven't always been recreated live, but would also be nice to seem them develop it further on record too - make use of those talents they have and put a different/developed twist on the PJ sound :)

    Although your text is just too music-technical for me, I think I have an idea what you're talking about.

    The Whale Song- sung by Stone. Eddie gets in dropping only a few lines during chorus. And the whole song atmosphere changes, gets much cooler. That is the power and uniqueness of Eddie's voice, he can upgrade a song a few notches by dropping in a few lines.

    Anyone with a spare couple of hours should chill out with good quality headphones and listen to Binaural followed by Riot Act. The harmonies and distant backing vocals that you don't always pick up without complete concentration are amazing. I love those albums. Yield has it's moments too.... :mrgreen:

    Hope to hear a richer sound on the new album.... :)

    I agree that just a few second of Eddie makes a song better. Just think of "Peace and love" from Neil Young´s Mirror Ball and Eddie´s contribution on REM´s "It happened today" from Collapse into Now.
    And he still gives his love,
