Ritual De Lo Habitual

Over the past few days I dusted off my Jane's Addiction CDs and gave them a listen for the first time in a month or two. Now, I've always loved JA. But over the past few days I've been really getting into them. Nothing's Shocking is spectacular. Summertime Rolls, Ted Just Admit It..., Mountain Song, Jane Says and Ocean Size are just amazing songs on that classic album.

That brings me to Ritual De Lo Habitual. All I have to say is wow. What an inspirational album. The 3 songs that never fail to give me chills are Three Days, Then She Did and Of Course. Three Days is hands down one of the most beautiful compositions ever written in my opinion. The lyrics fit the music perfect and vice versa. Those lyrics are so mystical and thought provoking to me. And that's followed by Then She Did, which has almost equally poetic lyrics. Of Course is such a weird song for JA but it just fits the progression.

Anyways, I know you're probably like "Look at this idiot reviewing a 20+ year old album like it came out yesterday" lol. But this album has captivated me. Its truly a classic album. Perry may have an annoying voice at times but this piece of art is a masterpiece. If you haven't done so already, check this album out.

    Yup. Pretty much spot on.

Three Days is the greatest song of the past 25 years, and Then She Did is not that far behind.

Then She Did originally had another letter in the title: an e. By taking it out, it gave the name a much more interesting vibe.

Yeah, from what I understand its about both Perry's mom (who took her own life when Perry was only 4 yrs old) and Xiola.
