“I’m not knocking China; I’m knocking our leadership. How can they allow this to happen? We spend $1.5 trillion, we lose thousands of lives, we destroy a country … but China is in there taking out all the oil, and we’re getting nothing,” Trump said.

And as China takes advantage, Trump said, the U.S. continues to pay for security for the region.

“I think it’s very nice of us, we have our Fifth Fleet over there making sure the waters are nice and calm,” Trump said. “I’ve said it a thousand times … we shouldn’t have been there, but if we’re there, take the oil. Take the oil. At least pay back, at a minimum, pay back — take the oil. Well guess what? China is taking the oil, but they didn’t have to fight.”

...
Donald... you poor misguided ignorant douche. Maybe... just maybe... Iraq IS paying us back because we went over there and DESTROYED THEIR COUNTRY and KILLED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF THEIR PEOPLE.
...
Sorry, but Payback is a bitch.

    Hey Trump – YOU’RE FIRED

Haifa pipeline (reopened ) into the Kirkuk oil fields =’s the fact that Iraq’s oil is being siphoned off through Israel, for domestic use and distribution to the US and UK bypassing Turkey’s pipelines and ports. We don't do anything for nothing, we always get something out of the deal.

Really, sometimes the cost cannot be defined in terms of money.

The problem is... the U.S. is the one that is invading and overthrowing.
We need to stop meddling in other country's internal affair to gain favors that support 'America's Best Interests'. For example, while in Iraq, we SHOULD be looking out for IRAQ'S BEST INTERESTS, not ours. It is THEIR country, not ours.

Actually it would be much better to stop all drilling in the US, use all the foreign oil...then when it runs out we'll still have our oil.....and it'll be worth more at that time. Okay maybe not all drilling as it would hurt economy but the ole Drill baby Drill is NOT in our best interest. Especially as oil is a global comodity and increasing our production is a drop in the global bucket and will not affect prices.

The thing is... we sort of want the oil/Ace In The Hole card in case we need to go to war with a China or a Russia or an Israel in the future. It is easier to protect local assets than to try to secure oil fields overseas. We will need to power our war machine wit fossil fuels until we figure out how to power them with alternative fuels.
I think it is better to have an oil reserve for strategic purposes, rather than squander them away because we like driving SUVs to work.

What the Donald fails to understand is that much of that oil does come back around to us via China... in the form of clothing, car parts, computers, throw away pens, key rings, TV's, food containers, pet toys, window shades, lighting fixtures, plastic shelving, disposable fast food "cutlery", lawn sprinklers, school supplies, costume jewelry, picture frames, endless mountains of kids toys, bicycle parts... I could go on all night. Shall I? And we keep buying this stuff, Big D. Willingly!
