No "into The Wild" Songs Played????

Out here on the right coast we didn't have the chance to see Eddie on his short solo run. So, I thought that when this tour came around, we would definitily get to here some of Eddies solo stuff from the Into the Wild soundtrack. But from the set lists (so far) it doesn't seem to be the case. My thoughts where, how about a short acoustic set...3-4 songs inbetween the first and second sets. Just Eddie acoustic for a couple of rarly heard tunes, THAT would be great!! I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed anyway......

  • My thoughts exactly, I had been hoping for this too! Even ONE song would have made me overjoyed. No dice in Tampa, though I wasn't expecting it after they didn't play any in WPB. But the show was awesome regardless!!

Maybe it will eventually happen on the tour...

The sad this is, with Ed getting a solo spot at the beginning of the second set, I think the chances of his pre-set songs are going to be slim.

    DO NOT WANT.

If I want to see Eddie solo, I'll see him solo.

This is a PJ show. I want to hear PJ songs...not mediocre songs from a mediocre soundtrack to a mediocre movie.
    Horry Kow!
  • Ed's probably touring the East Coast later this summer/fall anyway...

I am OK with this, its a Pearl Jam show. If they wanted to perhaps do a few full-band, that might be cool. But the majority of the songs should be PJ ones.

I like the soundtrack, however I have to agree that I'd MUCH rather see Pearl Jam songs than EV songs. Eddie will do a solo east coast tour eventually and thats when I'll get to enjoy those songs. I feel like him playing his own stuff is a 'diss' to his bandmates who have side projects as well (their stuff isnt played).

Is this just a rumor or has he actually said something about it? Wow, would that be cool! :)

According to a few people who have heard from reliable sources, this is more than rumour and will probably happen in September. :)

I don't see any reason why these two things have to be mutually exclusive. I don't see how one has any bearing on the other.

I think the perfect spot for any Into the Wild songs are during a preset ... although "Society" might work leading off a second encore instead of the other ed-by-himself songs he's been playing so far.

    Agreed.

I might actually prefer one of the ed solo show covers ... "Millworker" has been kicking my ass of late.

when's the last time they played a Brad, Three Fish, Wellwater Conspiracy, etc... song? why would you expect an Ed solo song during a Pearl Jam tour?

I agree 100%. In fact, I think it's insulting to the bad to expect them to play Eddie's solo songs during their set. I mean, you wouldn't expect to hear Three Fish or Brad songs at a PJ show, would you?

I agree ... except Ed songs are good. hey yo!!!

(actually, they already play "No More" every now and then ... it wouldn't be a stretch to play, say, "Guaranteed" in that slot).

I just had to bump this thread. Somebody from the band must have read this thread. I loved the soundtrack and I wish I would have heard Guaranteed at the West Palm Beach show but I am definitely happy with what I got. I will hear it when I buy the bootleg for Virginia Beach.

Ed played Guaranteed last night in Virginia Beach.

Yeah I know that is why I bumped the thread.
  • If anything id say your best chance would to be to go in before the opener and see if he plays solo. I saw him do that in Camden last tour. I think as they play more two night shows they'll bust it out.

I agree. But those songs are NOT medicore at all. I want to hear all PJ, and some covers. If I hear anything from ITW, it would be cool i guess, but it just would make me think what PJ song they couldve played instead.

Or, he could just buy a time machine and go back in time to last night when Ed played Guaranteed in the second encore ...

Any chance of a PM going this direction? :)
    JUST PLAY THE F***ING NOTE!!!
  • Ah, I so wish I could have heard Guaranteed! That would have made an awesome night in Tampa extra special. Lucky for all you who have tickets for later shows, maybe you'll get to hear it!

How anyone who is a fan of Ed and PJ can say that is a mediocre song is beyond me...

I was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!
