Why so few post 2000 bands?

Radiohead would be billed much higher....

I know Green Day and The Offspring should swap, but I like their logo better

And why so few post 2000 bands? Quality. Or lack of therein.

Which new bands since 2000 have been good?

I can think of Audioslave, Mammal, Rival Schools, Velvet Revolver...errrr...The Strokes are ok I suppose. Um...

And most of those were formed by 90s folk.

Music since 2000 just hasn't been as good. Not even close.

I listen to pre-2000s music mostly but I love The Black Keys & Arctic Monkeys, to name a few. Sure there are lots of others but as previously posted, I am old.

I guess if you want that sort of grungy rock, yeah there have been none because that music is dated to the 90s. Guitar rock (90s version, not the 80s version) has become pretty passe. Creed and Nickelback saw to that.

But there have been plenty of great bands post 2000. You just need to venture outside of your comfort zone.

I have 50,000 songs in my collection. There's plenty of variety.

Post 2000 music just hasn't been as good. It's as simple as that.

www.last.fm/user/olivavu shows what I listen to. There's plenty of range there from Pearl Jam to Jurassic 5 and Soundgarden to Chemical Brothers.

This festival would be insane though. I would absolutely love to see 10% of those bands on one lineup!

You mean you haven't enjoyed anything post 2000. Not that it hasn't been any good. There has been plenty of great bands.

And those are just some big names that off the top of my head who made some great albums

There are dozens more bands who have made great albums in the past 13 years. Granted, they aren't massive, but they well regarded.

And I see you are from England, if you are talking about British music, I'll agree. The Libertines are the last worthwhile band to come from there.

I don't mind The White Stripes, but I am not fussed by the rest of those bands.
