I give my condolences to everyone that has lost family and friends..

and a big true heartful thanks to all that responded.

I had been caregiver for both mom and my dad since '08' (luckily, i lived very close to them)

Mom passed away in 2010 and I thank my lucky stars that Backspacer album was there to listen to

amongst ~ all the other Pearl Jam musical gems..

I have never done the facebook type thingy and this happens to be the place I come to read a whole lot..
my only sibling is thousands of miles away in the desert, but has been reached and will be coming...

'Man Of The Hour' just seems so fitting

So sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my father and my father-in-law within one year of each other. It really put things in perspective.

Do you have anything you'd like to share about your dad?

I was going to ask the same - it does help some, that release.

It'll be five years this Sept. of my dad dying. Still hurts but it's softened, in a way.

My father died years ago and listening to music was totally helpful. I miss him, but he's still with me. And your father will always be with you.

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I recently lost my father, just this past September, and it has been the biggest challenge of my life so far....I still don't know how I'm going on day to day without him. Actually, just got back from visiting him at the cemetery, which is equal parts incredibly difficult and calming. There aren't many words I can give to help, as grief is such a personal process. But I can tell you I- and the rest of the PJ community- are here if you need anything. Let the grief take its natural course, surround yourself with friends, family, love, and music, and always remember the good times. Sending you nothing but good vibes.
