  • The War on Terror is fucking stupid. I am not agreeing with Obama's appeal, but you cannot fight an idea. Terrorism will never die, its a waste of money to keep trying to fight it, just leave the Middle East and protect America a lot better. Spend money on protecting us, not fighting an idea.

if he did it then, you would have criticized him for not waiting until his second term.

Senator McCain visted Syria this weekend and spoke to the rebels... you know WHO the rebels are?
    A: Al Qaeda.
If we help arm the 'rebels', as many Republicans are calling for... we will be arming Al Qaeda.

I agree that one man should not have the power to declare war but when I read this I had forgot about this law all together and was shocked it was still around so asked myself why was passed to the next president ?

the idea that one man..any man/president can declare war is friggin scarry.

because there wasnt a time limit like with the assualt weapons ban that was allowed to expire in 06.

Technically we are still at "war" with a nonstate Ideology thats in place in large part by Americas shortsighted, misunderstanding of who all the players were/are. Its a war that really doesnt have an ending unless WE just walk away from it.

Syria is a bottomless quagmire of shit that we need to avoid...
On the one hand, you have the Hezbollah backed, dictatorial regime of Assad... trying to hold on to power.
On the other side, you have seperatist rebls who are being backed by Al Qaeda.
Help Hezbollah remain in power? Arm Al Qaeda? Or aviod parachuting into the middle of this shit-pit altogether?
    ...
Remember, 'The Enemy Of My Enemy... STILL FUCKING HATES ME!'.
    ...
P.S. The only reason WHY I think the Republicans want us to get fucking involved in Syria is because they want President Obama to do the same thing former President Cheney did. They want Syria to be 'Obama's War'.

but truthfully I feel every war brings us closer to a war no country can afford to fight win or lose.
and it's just something I don't want for our youth.
