Part I

lay your hand
spread across this velety smooth
this is you
if you should
where I would listen
your every word
right here
I know where it hurts
and pray

Part II

it's feathers who demanded their own drapery of the wind
tunnel of darkness called again
strung out on the clothesline
four robins one twin
they heard you were
california dreaming

Intermission

what I've done
I did twice
folded in half
gave it to you
I don't know why you're cutting it longways

Part III

eyes, eyes, if you should see
how scared I am to touch
where I've already been
around on all sides
four corners
and died

Part IV

eyes, eyes, if you should see
how scared I am

you have already seen
underneath all above
rounded up twisted in
love you that much

Part V

I'm sorry I drank your poem
But I was so thirsty
and it's been sitting there for so long

The End

what is familiar
what is security
what security is not
might not
night
wonderment stillness otherwise softness
deep laughter tears
inspiration unknown
not given but is grown
created within
