Print At Home Tickets From Stubhub

So I didn't win the lottery for Wrigley back in February, I sat in front of my computer feeling hopeless and depressed. So I went over to Stubhub and paid an outrageous price for two tickets. The seller only gave me the option to print my tickets at home, so that's what I did. My concern is though: Is this a guarentee? What I mean by this is that the seller still has the original tickets in his possession. All he did was enter the code on the tickets so I could print them. Can this guy get in line first with his tickets making my tickets invalid? Is that possible? I emailed Stubhub and they said it won't be a problem but screw them, I want re-assurance.

Thanks

you will be fine as if the seller screws up in any way he will end up paying through the nose , thats why with stub hub the seller can't photocopy numerous tickets as there are consequences to that type of actions.

The seller just doesn't get paid from stubhub if he is trying to scam multiple people. Ticket sellers don't get money until after the show. So, yes as the buyer you are "protected" by getting your money refunded, but you still could get turned away at the gate if the print at home tickets have been duplicated and already used for entrance.

Could, but unlikely. I would get there fairly early. If your tickets get rejected, call stubhub, and they will work it out. What will happen, is they will have the sell's CC on file, if your tickets have been rejected, Stubhub will buy you similar or better tickets by using the seller's CC. In other words, you wouldn't be out any money, the seller would, and at a major event like this, if you try to get in 15 mins after the doors open, you will have plenty of tickets left that stubhub can buy for you. Stubhub charges fees up the ass, but they do offer the best recourse possible IMHO. I sound like a saleman, I swear, I'm not.

That is incorrect- seller gets paid as soon as buyer receives tix. Technically the seller can sell multiple print at home tix. The first who gets in is the lucky one. Since you paid through stub hub you are protected and would get your cash back.

This is what I had assumed and is the reason I haven't gotten tickets through SH

I remember when Eddie played the beacon in NYC this happened. The people were covered but could not get into the show. Felt bad for them along w/ all the others buying fake tix.

I would think for an event like Wrigley there will be a lot of unsold tickets on Stubhub that they can pull from as a replacement, but yeah you can't guarantee it.

My ticket to the 12.12.12 concert for Hurricane Sandy was bought from Stubhub and it was a print at home ticket that failed when I tried to enter. The refunded the price of my ticket and gave me a free ticket in a similar seat. Couldn't have worked out better actually. Was an expensive ticket.

Damn now I'm starting to get worried. I'm driving from Pittsburgh to this show, so if something awful happens with these tickets I'm going to be extremely pissed.

I wouldn't worry. Like Bootlegger said there will be plenty of replacement tix if something goes wrong.

Get your ticket scanned first. Arrive early is the best way to avoid an issue.

I would almost hope for a bad ticket the way Stubhub refunds the price and provides a free replacement ticket when available. I was told though that the 12.12.12 concert was a bad one when it came to tickets not working. THe Stubhub guy told me he ran from their offices about 12 times to replace tickets that night. I don't think you should be concerned. Just get their first if you are nervous about it.

Alright cool, thanks for the advice. Just one question though, how exactly does the replacing your ticket deal work with Stubhub if something were to go wrong?

For me, it was an easy process. Like you are planning to do, I flew in for the 12.12.12 show the day of the concert and flew out at 6am the next morning so it would have been brutal to not get in.

I called Stubhub's 800 number. You should have your order receipt with you printed as it is easier to deal with when they ask you your order information while on the phone. The first person I talked to verified my order and then initiated the refund of the original ticket purchase. They then transferred me to a local Stubhub agent who worked through finding a replacement ticket (I assume another unsold Stubhub ticket they knew was good). The runner then told me where to meet him outside the venue and called me on my cell when he got there. For me it was a 25 minute process. Missed the first couple Springsteen songs but he picked terrible songs to open that show with anyway.

I don't know that they can guarantee a replacement ticket, but larger venues I would expect it not to be a problem. The replacement ticket is supposed to be similar to the original (my seat moved further back up the upper deck but closer to the stage). I would bet if they don't have a replacement ticket you'll get some other sort of credit from them for the inconvenience.

The Stubhub local guy also followed up with an email the next day to apologize for the inconvenience. They handled it great.
