    I can see how this would be misinterpreted, but I think this is more of a joke - albeit a bad one - about paranoia than anything.

    The joke she was making is that if god caused Katerina and sandy because of the gays as pat Robertson et al said then he must be angry the conservatives now

    She then tweeted

    “Made a political joke, Twas before devastation revealed. In hindsight, had I understood, I would have refrained. Beyond sorry. #letshaveit"

    Thanks, this makes sense; not an excuse for the dumb comment, but a reason. I can appreciate it.

    Maybe a good lesson learned to REFRAIN - at least for a bit. It's not a race to get the snarkiest comment out first...or is it?

    (and that's part of the problem I have with Twitter & the like - it removes the beautiful, wonderful, contemplative act of thinking before you speak)
