My baby girl is graduating high school next week. iPad or iPad mini?

She has an old Dell laptop, but I can't afford a new laptop, especially a Mac.

What's the best way to go?

Please and thanks. Will check in later.

My son likes his iPad, because of the size of the display and because he has big hands.
My girlfriend loves her iPad Mini, because it fits in her handbag. ;)

I'd say just go with the regular iPad. The mini is nice for portability, but the larger screen is why you should pass on the mini.

We just got our son one, we bought the iPad Mini.

My son has autism, so we chose the mini for portability. This way we were also able to get the 32GB instead, so we are able to put more apps on it for him. The mini is also lighter weight as well.

Depends how she is going to use it, either way I think she will like which ever one you choose.

Good luck & congratulations on your daughter's graduation!

Does she already have an IPhone? If so, regular IPad would be what you're looking for.

got the mini for christmas and i love it. the regular ipad wasn't as portable enough for me (as ridiculous as that might sound) as i travel light on planes, subways, trains, so the mini was just the right size.

if she is planning on using it mainly for small things, surfing, reading books then the mini.

Otherwise, if it is to compensate for a laptop, then regular ipad...with a keyboard. ipad is cool, the lack of a keyboard drives me nuts sometimes.

Also, in the first scenario, consider a Kindle Fire.
