Tantrum

Oh how I hate
that word
because it is both
so true and yet
when used against someone who
in their deepest of thoughts believes
they are justly
and righteously
and fervently
and with good cause
and with clear conscience
not the least bit
pissed
that is when
they will tell you
to
stop
throwing
a tantrum.
Perhaps it would be better to
subtly
and secretively
and quietly
and emphatically
whisper
fuck.

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

You mean what you say. I don't think it could ever be your fault, and Fruck is a good word for your emotions.
I think passionate people are also told they are "ranting" when they express themselves with a lot of words. It sucks that the words get discounted merely because people feel uncomfortable with the passionate presentation of the ideas!
Thanks justam. Right about now I very much appreciate your kind words.
Probably because I "go on a Rant" at least once a day.
If i was told once a day that i was "throwing a tantrum" by someone, i would probably wind up "throwing a fist".
I dig this poem a lot.
"To question your government is not unpatriotic --
to not question your government is unpatriotic."
-- Sen. Chuck Hagel
I can relate to your poem.
