I usually try and have at least 20 on me. Just in case I go to a cash only spot.

If I have a lot, I tend to spend it. I had some cash on Saturday and it was gone by Sunday afternoon

Same here. I also used to keep a $2 bill in my wallet. Then I got robbed. Now I keep my $2 bill in a drawer.

depends on if the woman gets ahold of my wallet :fp:

i typically have under 50, unless we are heading out on vacation, in which case, i'll grab 3-500 from the bank before leaving. not sure why, since plastic seems to work 98% of the time, but i still do it.

I also pull extra cash for vacations... not only do credit cards work but there are plenty of ATMs around... I think it was ground into my head as a child...

there have been times I wish I hadn't had cash with me

actually I spend less when cash leaves my hands physically...
I have to really want something to spend the green stuff. Not as true with plastic for me.

I usually don't carry much cash.......seems as if I only need it when I am at a cash-only parking/valet lot.

I prefer using plastic so I earn airline miles.

I use my debit card 99% of the time. It's pretty rare to find a place that only takes cash.
I don't carry a "wallet", just a card holder. I like to keep a little bit of cash in it when I travel. So many damn times I'll be in a tipping situation and I don't have any cash to give the guy.

That said, it's got to be tough to be a bum these days. I mean, most people don't carry cash anymore...
    "Spare some change?"

Uh...no. I don't carry cash and I'm sure as hell not going to carry around a bunch of coins!

Man, the heyday of being a bum is long gone!

There are still a few places around that only accept cash. The place I hung out at on Friday only takes cash. My brother only accepted cash or checks for years at his business. Only started accepting credit cards when they added a record shop.

It really does get tough to give the panhandlers money when you only have a debit card. They've probably gone from getting a lot of bills to getting mostly coins.

Why? Do you like coins for change?
    Who likes coins?

Carrying them around....all clinking around in your pocket. No thanks!

Do you pay with exact change? At the store when it comes to $31.27...do you bust out the coins like the 90 year old ladies while everyone else in line gets pissed?:lol:

Nope, I'll gladly take the three quarters or whatever it is to redeem for cash at a later date.

Makes things easy. Don't have to count or carry change. Don't have to carry a wallet full of cash. Don't have to go to the ATM/bank to get that cash. Don't have to return change for cash.

I guess I see no reason to carry cash anymore.
