I Disagree On: Nirvana and Bush
DMB and Spin Doctors aren't my cup of tea, but I don't see why they're on the list. Hootie and the Blowfish I'm on the fence about. I wasn't into them at the time, but I didn't think they sucked. It was only time when they were totally overplayed, and the songs began to get dated (they were always kind of cheesy, but not unbearable) when they started to become "bad". I bet most people who voted and were old enough to have been into music at the time probably had their album. They were just around, not really worth liking or hating to me.
All of this just begs the question, who the hell do Rolling Stone readers thing were the best bands? I can see it now. Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox Twenty, No Doubt, Spice Girls (technically not a band, but these head wound patients who voted Nirvana as one of the worst wouldn't know the difference), Oasis, etc.

They were one of my favorite bands back in the day. Until "No Code" came out, I was way more into Bush than Pearl Jam, though I liked Vitalogy OK. I saw them in '97 when they were promoting "Razorblade Suitcase", it was a good show. They weren't the greatest musicians ever, though they didn't suck, and I have no clue what the lyrics are about (Gavin probably doesn't either) but it sounds really good to me.
I'm just sad "Golden State" didn't get promoted much and died a quiet death, and therefore so did the band. Until this partial reformation that is, which I didn't think was that great but not terrible. I thought "Golden State" was fantastic. "Float" is probably the best song they ever made.

I used to buy it sometimes back in the day when a band I liked was featured in it, but I stopped caring about it when it became the unofficial Green Day fanzine.
Don't worry Thoughts_Arrive, we're gonna get the bastards that did this.
took them permanently out of my itunes collection a few years ago after some mp3 house cleaning.
Honestly couldn't agree more. Creed is an absolute joke and them vs. Nickelback for worst band would be a clash of titans. But with that being said, the first Creed album really wasn't bad... It had some good tunes on it. They could have branched out after that album and had a decent career but just absolutely shit the bed.
Although I can't blame them because they made tons of money I'm sure.
