I won't lie to you
I may never know what you meant when you spoke
I thought I heard something good on the wind...
but, then again,
maybe it was only hopes on the breeze?
as is so often the case, I can't be sure with my ears
when I can't quite hear, I smile and nod.
don't you?
and so I'll just assume it was love and hope flying past
the whoosh of the wind is here and gone though
and so
I can't be completely sure what I heard
