I'm still brooding
but I know I need to stop it
I'll take a turn around the block
change my socks
put the book down
turn the tune off
people say "grow up"
and this is a bit of what they mean
they mean accept reality as it is
without a rosy glow or a bit of snow
the news shouts at us:
"People die daily!
accidents happen to lots of people!
yeah, Average Drone can't expect a happy ending!"
and
as much as I love to dream that dreams come true,
sometimes they do
but sometimes they don't
maybe this is what the universe does when
there are several dreams that don't harmonize?

oh no!
no, folks can't have conflicting realities simultaneously
it's more like alternately or subterraneously or
n e v e r
how does one accept this hard view of reality without getting discouraged?!
tell me, how-does-a-person-get-back-off-the-ground?!

Frankly, I refuse to have some hard, cold, unyielding view of life. I've gotta find another way of looking at disappointment because I don't like this. :x

People can be so cold, I think it's because it's easiest for them..
like your poetry very much! :)

    Thanks Anna.

I agree with you. I think people numb themselves rather than feeling what they feel.

I don't want to do that and I also don't want to get hard and cynical.
I prefer living in a hopeful, loving state of mind. (It suits my personality better.)
