Mark messier, mike richter and Brian leetch were all at Randall's island. I believe a former board member (neilybabes) had a beer with Sean Avery before MSG-2010.

And add bobby ryan who plays for the ducks.

John Cusack sat in opera pit next to me at Eddie solo show in Chicago, with Chelios and Sean Penn. Chelios is sometimes an ass, I've met him a few times. Sean Penn ignored me, did not even say hi, just acted like he didn't hear me.

Cusack was cool as hell. I asked him if he was a Cubs or Sox fan, and he said both. I told him you can't be from Chicago and be both. We talked for a little bit about it, and he was really cool, not acting like he was too good to talk with me, like the other two assholes in that suite.

Detroit can have Chelios, I'm in Chicago, and I don't want him here. He was my favorite player growing up, and that changed after I met him a few times. Funny how that works.

***Oh, yeah, that night I met those three, I met Eddie at a bar after. He was going to private party in basement of bar I was in. I asked him if I could join him, and he kindly said sorry, no. Stopped to acknowledge my presence and say hi and thanks for going to the show, before he went down to the basement. This proves it's not hard to not be an ass, and just say hi.

Brian Fallon from the Gaslight Anthem during their last show in Belgium:

" .... so for that EP we did a song that we had never played before because I think it is stupid to buy a live CD with songs you've all heard before... *thinks for a moment*... no wait that's not completely true because I keep on buying all those Pearl Jam-bootlegs!"

:D:D:D I love it to hear people mentioning my favorite band at a random moment. Especially since it almost never happens in Belgium.

Cool story. Doesnt surprise me about Chelios and Sean Penn, great actor though. Always liked Jon Cusack, now I like him more. Cant stand his sister though.

Lol, Eddie can I come with.... Sorry kid, (cue sad music) Ed walks downstairs.

Hmm...The Chelios vibe does not fit in with my one meeting with the guy. In April 2009 he worked the line for The Smashing Pumpkins first Arising show in Detroit trying to score a ticket to the sold out gig. No luck for Chris and he tried the entire 500+ people in line. After being unsuccessful he invited anyone that wanted to join him for a drink at a true locals bar a few blocks away, which a number of people did(with their spots being held of course). Maybe if I were from Chicago I would not be a fan as well(as fans tend to develop hatred for a beloved star when they leave town for a rival).

Sean Penn is known in restaurant circles as the absolute worst celebrity tipper http://www.examiner.com/article/the-worst-celebrity-tippers-vs-their-networthout there (great actor). I have personal experience that Tiger Woods doesn't leave jack shit either, but that was at the 1999 Western Open, before he tried to resurrect his image

Like, I said, he was my favorite player growing up. Leaving town would not change that. Meeting him, made me wish I never did. It wasn't a vibe, it was disappointing.

Hard to believe he couldn't score a ticket to Pumpkins show. He's friends with Eddie through the Chicago connection, why not Billy?

John Cusack and Eddie Vedder both grew up in Evanston but are a few years apart (so did Jeremy Piven who is closer to Eddie's age). Wonder if they knew each other back in the day. I went to high school with John but he was two years older than me. Somewhere I have a high school play bill which shows John Cusack and Jeremy Piven in it. I bet both John and Jeremy will be at the concert (can't have a PJ concert without Jeremy  )
