Okay, I'm know I'm in the minority when comes to libs on this, but after all these years I have changed my opinion on this (and probably this alone) when it comes to Presidient Bush. I don't fault him for sitting there for a bit, I mean really, there wasn't much information coming I. at that point, and personally I'm glad he remained calm. It would have been even worse had he freaked the fuck out right there.
Fan or not of the man, I highly reccomend reading his book, "Decision Points".
I disagree with him on so much, but let's face it... There ain't a swinging Dick here that knows how they would react in his situation. Much like President Obama is not quick to call things a terrorist attack until he has more info. I'm gonna give Junior a pass on this one.
Okay... Light me up!
I'm neither lib nor con, and the only lighting of anything going on here is to the candles and the bong
I appreciate your openness, wolf. Hell knows what any of us would've done at that moment, in that position.
For what it's worth, I don't give a shit about someone or myself being in the minority; I care more about common sense and candor. They go a long way, from all perspectives (ok, from MY perspective).

sits on that chair for another 10 minutes.
For fuck sake, someone tells me their pc isnt working I don't sit for the the next 10 minutes. I go fix their f'n computer.
What should he have done that wasn't being done behind the scenes by his staff?
Peace, Love.

You are in no danger of being lit up by me but I do disagree that his sitting there like that was acceptable. I will never forget the morning of 9/11, of learning of the attack, of spending the next several hours on a desperate hunt for information. I needed to know what had happened, where it had happened, were my people OK, etc. I think most of us have similar memories of that day.
Not George Bush. He was told of the attack, told to stay put, and did for ten minutes. This is the leader of the free world. What he should have done was calmly stand up, apologize to the children for needing to leave early, and then gotten out of there. No matter what his staff was doing...he did nothing. He asked no questions. He was given no information. And he was fine with that.
Hard to say this was the worst political move in history because he did get reelected but it is certainly on the short list. All this rewriting of the Bush legacy that has gone on the last few weeks, this is the image that people should remember.
Couldn't find a better pic of him in the bomber jacket. Well at least he made sure terrorism was sure to stay away from the shores of America for ever more with his actions. Good on him, eh!

I dunno, maybe acted like someone who wasn't a bewildered, goofy brat, with no sense of responsibility or urgency? Maybe he should have put the children's book down and gotten into a position from which he could assess the situation at hand, and made the decisions that those under his command/leadership were waiting for?
