Done and done for the longest time - little pink "Donor" sticker is always right next to the shitty photo on my license

Many states including Washington (thank goodness) registering is a easy as whenever you get your new or renewed state drivers license or ID they ask if you want to be a donor. for those that agree, their license/ID will have the word donor next lil pink heart right on it. It's been proven that states with the license/ID option to donate have higher rates of donation :)

Also in many states even though you have it on your license, or filled out a donor form or have it elsewhere in writing, your next of kin can object to your donatation and stop the process; literally over your dead body.... despite your wishes. so it's important to let family members know if you want your organs donated along with being registered.

if after telling them your family members still object...tell them you'll haunt them forvever if they don't follow your wishes ;)

goes with out saying i'm happy and blessed my donor's family never tried to object to his decision to be a donor :D

Yep, NY does it driver's liscence as well. I can't believe that family can override this decision, even if written in a will. (Well, I guess I can since kin argues family wills all the time.) But it's for such a good reason, to help others out who need transplants, that it's hard to believe that anyone would stop it when the donor really wanted it.
